The welcome gate project of Muong Phang historical and cultural tourism and ecological relic site (Muong Phang commune, Dien Bien province), with a total construction investment of 7.5 billion VND, from the capital of the National Target Program for socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, phase 2021 - 2025.
The project belongs to group C, civil works level III, project implementation progress in 2025 - 2026.
The project was constructed by Anh Tuyet Design and Construction Consulting Co., Ltd. (address in Dien Bien Phu ward, Dien Bien) from September 2025. Up to now, the appearance of the welcome gate has been basically completed.


Representatives of the investor, the Relic Management Board (Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province) confirmed that the contractor is currently in trial operation and still needs to be repaired, so it has not been handed over.
Mr. Luong Van Thoa (resident of Muong Phang commune) said: "People are very proud to see a large and beautiful welcome gate, imbued with cultural identity, being built. We expect that when the project officially comes into operation, it will be a highlight for tourists coming to Muong Phang".


The project has a construction investment scale including: 2 welcome gate pillars 15 m high, the clearance between the two pillars is 21.5 m; 2 sides of the gate pillars are covered with bronze reliefs; the front of architectural details is covered with granite; on the top of the two gate pillars are arranged bronze cast stars; a horizontal steel truss system with Piêu scarf patterns and an electronic LED board.
In addition, there are auxiliary items: landscape green trees, sidewalks, technical infrastructure restoration, along with a system of electricity supply and brilliant night lighting.

The investment in construction of the project will be a highlight in architectural landscape and cultural and historical symbols of the gateway area of the "Muong Phang historical and cultural, ecological tourism relic site", helping to complete the infrastructure system, attracting tourists to develop the local economy.
This promises to be an unmissable "check-in" spot for tourists when coming to Muong Phang.



Recently, Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan to implement the Dien Bien Phu cable car complex project combined with a public service cultural area.
The cable car complex project will be implemented in Muong Phang and Pu Nhi communes. The total land use area is expected to be about 25.6 ha.
Accordingly, the departure station in Muong Phang commune has an area of about 10 hectares. The cable line belonging to Muong Phang commune has an area of about 9.71 hectares, connecting from the Historical Relic Area of General Vo Nguyen Giap Tunnel to the Relic Area of Pu To Co Mountain Observatory. The arrival station is located on Pu To Co mountain (belonging to Muong Phang and Pu Nhi communes) with an area of about 5.89 hectares.
