Returning to Quang Tri to tell a true historical story
On July 1st, within the framework of the 4th Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF IV), the film crew of "Red Rain" had a press meeting, sharing many stories behind the process of making a work on the theme of war - history.

The film was developed from a topic that writer Chu Lai had cherished for many years, before the crew started preparing the script from 2017. During the pre-production process, the film crew surveyed the setting in Dong Mo, but in the end still decided to bring the camera back to the historical space associated with the Thach Han River, Quang Tri.
This choice shows the caution and responsibility of the crew when approaching a heavily historical war theme, where the context is not only a visual backdrop but also a part of the work's memory.
Not only a film project, Red Rain is also seen as an effort to innovate the storytelling style of Vietnamese war films. Instead of placing history at a formal distance, the film seeks to bring war memories closer to contemporary audiences, especially the younger generation, through emotions, characters and cinematic choices rich in connection.
Young actors grow up from historical roles
The movie "Red Rain" was recorded to attract 8.3 million viewers, a remarkable number for the historical - war film genre. Behind that spread is a bigger question that Red Rain raises for Vietnamese cinema: "How to make past stories not only remembered, but also received as a vivid part of today's cultural life?".
For young actors, Red Rain has also become a career milestone. Actor Do Nhat Hoang said that the process of participating in the film helped him learn decisiveness in artistic labor, especially in difficult stages of the filming process.

The actor acknowledged that the work has helped young people understand more about the country's history, and at the same time opened up for him the belief that each role is an opportunity to overcome personal limits.
Actress Ha Anh, who plays Ms. Hong, sees the role as the result of a persistent journey. She said that the character does not come randomly, but is the result of 10 years of working in the profession.
After "Red Rain", many new opportunities opened up, but the actress did not see it as pressure. For her, the more important thing is to continue to choose roles with depth and enough ability to create emotional connection with the audience.
