The 2026 high school graduation exam recorded a prominent mark of Hung Yen education when Hoang Quang Minh, a student of class 12A1, An Thi High School (An Thi commune), excellently became the national valedictorian of group A01 with a total score of 29.75. In which, he achieved perfect scores in two subjects Math and Physics, and English achieved 9.75 points.
This result not only puts Minh at the top of the country in the A01 combination but also contributes to affirming the quality of general education in Hung Yen in this year's exam.
Few people expected that behind the achievement of the valedictorian was a fairly simple learning method. Sharing after learning that he became the national valedictorian, Minh said that he does not put much emphasis on extra classes or studying many hours each day but focuses on understanding knowledge deeply.
I study by nature. First, I must firmly grasp the knowledge in textbooks, understand the nature and then develop further" - Minh shared.
The male student said that he still goes to extra classes but not much, each subject only takes about one session per week. Most of the remaining time he spends on self-study, self-systematic knowledge and practice. "I think the most important thing is still self-study and understanding the nature of knowledge" - Minh said.
Contrary to many people's imagination of a valedictorian who always buries himself in books, Minh said that he still spends time resting, entertaining and meeting friends. According to Minh, today's achievement is not the result of a few months of exam preparation but a process of accumulation over many years of study.
I think I have a foundation from grade 1, grade 2. In grade 1, grade 2, I invested a lot of time in studying. When I went to high school, I continued to develop on that knowledge foundation" - she shared.
With the achieved results, Minh plans to register for the IT1 program of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, a major that he has identified before entering the exam.
Maintain excellent form
Interestingly, when knowing the exam scores, Minh was not too surprised by his results. The male student said that during the review process, he repeatedly achieved similar scores, so he was quite confident about his work. However, becoming the national valedictorian is still something that surprised him.
I think many talented friends like me can also achieve this score. The main difference is in carefulness to avoid unnecessary mistakes, not that I am superior to my friends" - Minh humbly said.
According to a representative of the Hung Yen Department of Education and Training, Hoang Quang Minh is a student with outstanding academic achievements, maintaining excellent performance throughout high school.
Right from the 10th grade entrance exam, Minh achieved perfect scores in both Math and combined subjects, and also became the valedictorian of the entrance exam at An Thi High School.
During his studies, he continuously achieved high results in excellent student exams with second prize at the provincial level in Informatics in 10th grade, second prize at the provincial level in Physics in 11th grade and third prize at the provincial level in Mathematics in 12th grade. Besides, Minh is also in the top 3 nationwide in the 2nd phase of the Thinking Assessment (TSA) exam and owns an IELTS 8.0 certificate.
Hoang Quang Minh becoming the national valedictorian of the A01 combination, and also ranked 9th nationwide in terms of average scores of exam subjects, continues to affirm the quality of general education and specialized education of Hung Yen province at the 2026 high school graduation exam.
