Crowds returning to the red address
During the National Day holiday of September 2nd, Truong Bon National Historical Relic Area became a destination for a large number of people and tourists from many provinces and cities across the country.
Day after day, groups of visitors followed each other to the relic site. In the crowd were veterans, former youth volunteers, children, families bringing young children to learn about history, along with many delegations of officials, workers and tourists from localities.
At the memorial area and graves of 13 youth volunteer martyrs, everyone successively offered flowers, lit incense, and observed a minute of silence to commemorate those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
Despite the large number of people coming, the atmosphere at the relic site is still solemn. Many tourists stood for quite a long time by the tomb area, listening to explanations about the Truong Bon years as one of the key points of fierce attacks on the North-South strategic traffic route.
Mr. Tran Trung Kien (from Quang Tri) said that the trip back to Truong Bon on the occasion of National Day left him with many emotions.
Returning to a sacred land like Truong Bon on National Day, I feel even more clearly the value of peace and independence today. Standing in front of the spirits of the heroic martyrs, I am very touched and grateful to the generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for the country" - Mr. Kien shared.
According to Mr. Kien, returning to red addresses on major holidays is not only an opportunity for each person to express gratitude but also an opportunity for today's generation to understand more deeply about national history.
Looking back at the sacrifices of the previous generation, we cherish today's life even more, believe in the development of the country and remind ourselves to live and work more responsibly" - Mr. Kien said.
After the incense offering ceremony, many delegations continued to visit the traditional house, learn about images, documents, and artifacts associated with the Truong Bon battlefield.
Mobilize all personnel to serve
On the occasion of National Day, the number of people and vehicles returning to Truong Bon National Historical Relic Area has increased sharply. Guidance, reception of guests, landscape maintenance and security and order assurance have therefore been strengthened.
Mr. Phan Trong Loc - Director of Truong Bon National Historical Relic Site - said that the unit has proactively developed a plan to serve people and tourists throughout the holidays.
According to Mr. Loc, the relic site mobilized 100% of officials and employees to work, arranging forces in key areas to guide tourist groups, support incense offering activities, sightseeing and learning about history.
Along with welcoming work, the unit strengthens environmental sanitation, embellishes the landscape, guides vehicles in and out, and coordinates with functional forces to ensure security and order in the area.
We determine that we must serve people and tourists thoughtfully, ensuring solemnity, politeness, and civilization. The goal is for everyone when returning to Truong Bon not only to offer incense to express gratitude to heroic martyrs but also to understand more about the historical and cultural values of the relic" - Mr. Phan Trong Loc said.
Truong Bon is located on Highway 15A, once one of the key traffic points heavily attacked during the anti-American resistance war, where 1,240 officers, soldiers, youth volunteers, militia and self-defense forces and people sacrificed. On the morning of October 31, 1968, 13 youth volunteers of Company 317 fell here while on duty to ensure traffic, becoming a symbol of the sacrifice of youth in the war.
The Truong Bon National Historical Relic Area is currently preserved and restored on an area of more than 21ha with items such as a memorial house, a tomb area for 13 youth volunteer martyrs, a traditional house, a monument, a memorial square and an artifact display area.
