On the evening of July 24, at Ho Guom Theater (Hanoi), a special art program "Giving forever" took place - introducing the typical works of the late musician Hoang Van and awarding the UNESCO World Documentary Heritage Certificate to the family of the late musician Hoang Van.
Within the framework of the event, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong; Dr. Fackson Banda, Head of the Department of Documentary Heritage and World Memories Program of UNESCO; Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu; Chairman of the International Advisory Council of the World Memories Program Johannes Joseph Maria Bos awarded the UNESCO World Documentary Heritage Certificate to the family of the late musician Hoang Van.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Le Y Linh, daughter of the late musician Hoang Van, expressed her sincere thanks to the agencies and individuals who have accompanied the musician's family throughout the process of building the dossier to submit to UNESCO.
"In addition to pride and emotion, we recognize our duty to continue to strengthen the protection and promotion of the value of the collection according to UNESCO's criteria.
The admission also encourages me to continue my research on works by other composers of the same period as our father, who contributed to the formation of Vietnamese academy music in the second half of the 20th century" - Ms. Le Y Linh said.
Musician Hoang Van (1930 - 2015) is one of the great names in Vietnamese music. The collection of Musician Hoang Van includes more than 700 musical works composed from 1951 to 2010, deeply reflecting the changes of the country and the spiritual life of the Vietnamese people through many periods.
With a harmonious combination of European classical music and folk music, his works not only have artistic value but are also valuable documents serving the study of Vietnamese culture, society and music history.
According to information from the Department of Cultural Heritage, the collection of Musician Hoang Van includes standard music, recordings, handwritten transcripts or prints, videos, articles, film music, interviews, books and music publications with about 1,000 items formed and developed over six decades.
The collection is not only a valuable work bearing the mark of Musician Hoang Van, but also reflects one of the historical turning points of Vietnamese music, the changes of the country and the spiritual life of the Vietnamese people through many periods.
With a harmonious combination of European classical music and folk music, his works not only have artistic value but are also valuable documents serving the study of Vietnamese culture, society and music history. In April 2025, his collection of works was recognized by UNESCO as a World Documentary Heritage.
The art program "Forever Hereafter" on the evening of July 24 at Ho Guom Theater introduced typical works by musician Hoang Van, gathering more than 200 artists, with the participation of famous artists, orchestras and professional ensembles.
In particular, the program was directly implemented by the two children of musician Hoang Van, the conductor Le Phi Phi - commander of the music night and Dr. Le Y Linh - the scriptwriter of the program.
