On June 13, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province said that the Kickboxing Sports Festival and the 2nd Gia Lai Provincial Youth Kickboxing Championship in 2026 will take place from June 14-19 in Quy Nhon ward.
The opening ceremony will be held at 7 pm on June 14th at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square.
The tournament is organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province to respond to the Campaign "All people practice physical exercise following the example of the great Uncle Ho", and at the same time promote the movement of practicing and competing in Kickboxing in the province.
According to the organizers, the tournament attracted 45 martial arts schools and clubs with 161 athletes and 15 commune and ward delegations with 91 athletes participating. A total of 312 delegation leaders, martial arts masters, coaches and athletes participated and competed in the Lowkick event.
Athletes will compete for a total of 43 sets of medals, of which the Kickboxing Sports Festival has 18 sets of medals and the 2nd Gia Lai Provincial Youth Kickboxing Championship in 2026 has 25 sets of medals.
The Games are a playground for martial arts students to exchange, learn, and rub shoulders in expertise, and also an opportunity for the local sports sector to discover and select potential athletes, and prepare forces to participate in national and international tournaments in the near future.
Through the tournament, Gia Lai continues to promote the Kickboxing training movement, meeting the cultural and sports enjoyment needs of the people; contributing to promoting the local image, tourism potential and attractive destinations to domestic and foreign tourists.
