On December 24, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province said that the National Tourism Year 2026 has the theme "Gia Lai - Convergence of identity, spreading green", demonstrating the harmonious connection between the sea and the plateau, between culture and nature.
The event is expected to open on March 31, 2026 and last until the end of December 2026, with the goal of Gia Lai welcoming about 15 million visitors and tourism revenue reaching 40,000 billion VND.
Within the framework of the National Tourism Year 2026, Gia Lai will organize many large-scale activities such as: "Gia Lai - New Day" with 9 events; the opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year with 11 events; Quy Nhon summer tourism series with 12 events; "Gia Lai - experiencing the land of martial arts" series with 15 events; "Gia Lai touching the gong rhythm" series with 9 events. In addition, there are more than 60 sideline events taking place throughout the year.

Many unique cultural festivals will be raised to national and international scale, typically the Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts International Festival, the Central Highlands Gong Festival, the Chu Dang Ya Wild Sunflower Festival, the Gia Lai Province Ethnic Culture Festival... contributing to strongly promoting the image of the land and people of Gia Lai to domestic and foreign tourists.
Vice Chairwoman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich emphasized that in the coming time, the provincial tourism industry needs to continue to effectively promote existing tourism products, while focusing on deeply exploiting the value of tourism resources associated with indigenous cultural resources.
On that basis, gradually form truly unique tourism products, imbued with the unique identity of Gia Lai. This is considered a key factor to enhance competitiveness and make a mark for local tourism on the national tourism map.
The provincial leaders expect tourism businesses to spend resources and time investing, beautifying the landscape, improving product quality, and at the same time telling unique "stories" associated with each tourism product. Building a unique and distinctive Gia Lai tourism brand identity is also considered an important task to promote the image.
