The workshop was attended by 180 delegates who are leaders of the tourism industry, leaders of Nghe An province, experts, scientists and representatives of many corporations and businesses operating in the fields of tourism, services and real estate.
Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Thai Van Thanh said that Nghe An has a central location in the North Central region, a diverse transportation system, converging all types of terrain from the sea, plains to midlands and mountains.
In recent years, the province's investment environment has been constantly improved, creating an important foundation for tourism development.

According to the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nghe An tourism is gradually becoming a field that actively contributes to the local socio-economic growth.
This workshop is an opportunity for the province to comprehensively recognize the potential, frankly point out the shortcomings and limitations, thereby proposing orientations and solutions for tourism development in the coming period.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Journalist Phung Cong Suong - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper emphasized that Nghe An is a land rich in historical and cultural values and possesses diverse tourism resources, but this potential has not been exploited accordingly.
For Nghe An tourism to truly "take off" and become a spearhead economic sector, the locality needs a new approach, in which investment does not stop at exploiting available resources but must aim to build unique products with depth, and operate all year round.
He said that the workshop is an important forum for managers, experts and businesses to dialogue and seek breakthrough solutions for Nghe An tourism.

Orienting the content of the workshop, Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh said that Nghe An needs to focus on clarifying key issues for tourism to develop sustainably and operate year-round.
In particular, the focus is on identifying key tourism products seasonally and space-based; perfecting institutions and planning to remove obstacles in attracting investment; at the same time, improving destination management capacity associated with the North Central region linkage.
He emphasized that the workshop needs to go into depth to analyze the bottlenecks that are hindering Nghe An tourism development, from policy mechanisms, infrastructure, human resources to the organization and management model.

In the discussion, experts, scientists and business representatives assessed Nghe An as possessing a rare tourism resource ecosystem, fully converging the sea - culture - history - ecology of the West, with typical destinations such as Cua Lo, Bai Lu, Pu Mat National Park, Kim Lien Relic Site and Vi and Giam Nghe Tinh folk songs.
In addition, the presentations also focused on analyzing major bottlenecks of Nghe An tourism. Many opinions say that the province's tourism is still strongly affected by seasonality, especially with sea tourism; tourism products are still monotonous and lack differences; legal barriers in ecotourism investment and community tourism still exist; and at the same time, there is a lack of a professional destination management model.

In the talk show, delegates focused on discussing in depth solutions to make Nghe An a tourism center of the North Central region.
Many opinions say that Nghe An tourism can only make a breakthrough when it forms a tourism ecosystem with enough depth, stable operation all year round, with a close connection between policies, investment, products and markets.
Delegates recommended that the province continue to improve planning, prepare clean land funds, invest in connecting infrastructure, reform administrative procedures and build a real support mechanism for businesses; at the same time, promote digital transformation, develop human resources and pilot destination management models in some key areas.
