Historical relics of Tam Co cave, located at Km16+500 on 20 Quyet Thang Street, Quang Binh, is an indispensable red address in the journey of gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed in the anti -American resistance war. Associated with the loss and heroic sacrifice of the volunteer youths on November 14, 1972, Tam Co cave is a symbol of courage and determination to protect the Fatherland, and also a spiritual tourist destination, a place of revolutionary traditional education for generations today.
Nam Co Cave and relics such as water bottles, belts, leather wallets... became a symbol of heroic sacrifice, a place to preserve heroic memories and educate patriotism for future generations.
Although it has been ranked as a National Monument since 2013, the conservation of Hang Tam Co is still facing difficulties. Mr. Nguyen Tu Vy, Head of the Management Board of the Road 20 Martyrs Memorial Temple, Quyet Thang, shared: Tam Co Temple is not only a relic, but also a place for traditional education. We hope that the relic will be expanded and restored worthy of the sacrifice of the heroic martyrs.
The relic site has now been renovated with items such as a memorial temple, a waiting room and auxiliary works. However, space is still limited, especially during peak season. From after Tet until the end of summer, the relic has welcomed thousands of visitors, but the current facilities have not met the demand.
Vice Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Tan said: "The Hang Tam Co relic is an indispensable part of the province's historical heritage. The government has implemented many activities to preserve, restore and develop spiritual tourism. However, due to difficult geographical location and limited funding, the province hopes to receive support from all levels, sectors and the community to turn the relic into a worthy cultural and historical destination.
Quang Binh is focusing on expanding and upgrading Hang Tam Co relic. The Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Culture and Sports and the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Management Board to coordinate in developing a comprehensive plan to preserve and promote the value of the relic.
Included in the development plan of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park for the period 2021-2030, Hang Tam Co relic is gradually becoming a highlight of cultural and spiritual tourism in Quang Binh.
The Quang Binh provincial government and relevant agencies are making efforts to expand, upgrade the relic and develop it into a cultural and spiritual destination worthy of the sacrifice of the heroes. To realize this goal, it is necessary to have the cooperation of all levels, sectors and communities to preserve precious historical values for future generations.
