Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just announced the Hanoi Jazz Festival 2026 Program. The program will take place from September 17 to 19 with the theme Hanoi Jazz - Borderless Melody.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Le Thi Anh Mai - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - said that this is an international cultural and artistic event oriented to become an annual activity of the Capital, contributing to realizing the strategy of developing the cultural industry, concretizing Hanoi's commitment when participating in UNESCO's Creative Cities Network and gradually positioning Hanoi on the map of international music festivals.
Notably, Hanoi Jazz Festival 2026 will take place in many typical cultural spaces of Hanoi such as the Hanoi Opera House Music Garden, Bat Giac House (Flower Garden of King Ly Thai To statue), Thang Long Music and Dance Theater, Culture and Arts Center (22 Hang Buom), Vietnam Women's Museum, Thang Long Opera Hotel and Jazz clubs in the city such as Binh Minh Jazz, Long Waits...
This creates a connection between music and architecture, heritage and urban life and especially towards the goal of "spreading the image of Hanoi to the world and bringing the world to Vietnam" - Ms. Anh Mai said.
The festival is expected to gather many prestigious artists and bands from the United States, France, Korea, Japan and many other countries, along with typical Vietnamese Jazz artists such as artist Quyen Van Minh, Longwaits Ensemble... The convergence of prestigious names promises to bring quality art programs, while promoting exchange, cooperation and development of the Jazz network between Vietnam and the international community.
Professionally invested in art, theater, sound, and lighting, Hanoi Jazz Festival 2026 contributes to the development of cultural and tourism industries and promotes the image of creative and integrated Hanoi.
Also bringing music associated with Hanoi's heritage, the second World Cultural Festival will be held on a large scale at Thang Long Imperial Citadel (Hanoi) in October, gathering many unique cultural and artistic activities, creating a space for cultural encounters.
According to the leader of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), one of the central activities of the event series is the World Village of Culture. Here, national spaces will be decorated to highlight the traditional and unique cultural elements of each country. Vietnamese cultural space introduces culture, unique handicraft products of Vietnam in general and Hanoi Capital in particular to domestic people and international friends.
Another highlight is the "Five-Chaos Concert" music festival, gathering artists from many countries, with performances combining musical instruments, Vietnamese and international artists.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong said that hosting the Festival is an opportunity to promote the image of the thousand-year-old Capital, introduce the unique cultural values of Vietnam to international friends and strengthen exchanges and dialogues between cultures. This is also an opportunity to affirm Vietnam's position and prestige in international cultural cooperation, contributing to promoting foreign cultural affairs and the development of cultural industries.
Ready for big concerts
An unmissable event is the BigBang 2026-2027 WORLD TOUR IN HANOI Concert, which will take place in two nights, October 24 and 25, 2026 at My Dinh National Stadium (Hanoi), promising to become one of the most anticipated international music events of the year.
BigBang's concert is part of the group's first world tour as a group after 9 years, gathering G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung in a series of 33 nights of performances at major stadiums around the world.
On August 13, the organizer of the BigBang Concert started selling tickets to VIP cardholders and on August 17 it will sell public tickets. Opening ticket sales 2 months in advance shows the heat of BigBang in Vietnam. This event is expected to bring in a large source of revenue for Hanoi tourism through a large force of fans in Vietnam and abroad coming to watch.
A series of major international music events are about to take place in Hanoi, not only meeting the increasing demand for enjoyment of the public. Behind the stages with tens of thousands of spectators are opportunities to promote the image of the Capital, attract tourists and gradually turn culture into a new source of growth.
Leaders of Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism expect each audience member coming to enjoy art to be each "tourism ambassador". Becoming an international music rendezvous also clearly illuminates a new path for Hanoi to develop the cultural industry, increase soft power and affirm the position of a creative city, integrating with the world.
On the evenings of August 12 and 13, at the Ho Guom Theater, the Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO) had two impressive performances, bringing the Capital's public a special concert night with symphony masterpieces by Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, Prokofiev and Shostakovich.
The Asian Young Symphony Orchestra gathers young musicians from China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
