In 2024, Dien Bien province will host the National Tourism Year, with the theme: "Glory of Dien Bien Phu - Endless Experiences", this is a typical cultural - economic - social event, of national and international scale, especially associated with the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).
Within the framework of the National Tourism Year, about 160 programs, events, and response activities took place. Dien Bien province welcomed more than 1.85 million tourists, with total revenue from tourism activities reaching over 3,300 billion VND, nearly 2 times higher than in 2023.
During the peak period from April 30 to May 7, more than 370,000 tourists came to Dien Bien. With the number of visitors skyrocketing, filling up all accommodation facilities, the province had to mobilize more residents to meet the needs of tourists.
According to the investigation of the reporter, Mr. Vu A Bang - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province signed a decision approving the budget estimate and plan to order public services using the state budget to organize an art program at the Closing Ceremony of the National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024.
Accordingly, the Closing Ceremony has a total budget of over 15 billion VND, from the State budget; socialized capital and other legal capital sources.
