    The Kim Dong - Giai Phong tunnel project has a total investment of 778 billion VND, a scale of 4 lanes, a total length of tunnel and approach road of 890m in the direction of Ring Road 2.5, of which the closed tunnel is 140m long, the open tunnel is 320m long. According to the design, the section through the tunnel has 2 lanes each way, 3.5m wide/lane, the section outside the tunnel has 3 lanes each way, 3.5m wide/lane.

    Giai Phong - Kim Dong underpass is a key project of the city in the period of 2021 - 2025, aiming to overcome the congestion between Ring Road 2.5 and Giai Phong road, gradually completing Ring Road 2.5 according to the approved plan, ensuring smooth traffic through Giap Bat freight station.

    This is the 5th underpass in the capital built since 2009, after the Kim Lien - Xa Dan, Trung Hoa, Thanh Xuan, and Le Van Luong tunnels.
