Hang Son Doong, a famous natural wonder of Vietnam, was introduced in episode 6 "Extreme" of the documentary series "Planet Earth III" produced by BBC (UK).
This is also the episode that just received 2 prestigious Emmy Award nominations.
BBC introduced, to get to Son Doong Cave, the film crew had to spend 2 days going through the forest, passing another giant cave, Hang En. In addition, the film crew also had the opportunity to admire the beauty of other caves such as Va cave and Nuoc Nut cave in Quang Binh.
In the film, Son Doong Cave appears from far to near, from outside the cave, the cave entrance to the underground river in the cave, playing on the background sound is the narrative of Mr. Ho Khanh - the first person to discover Son Doong Cave. in 1990 and narrated by the BBC.
BBC introduces, located deep in the jungle of Quang Binh, Hang Son Doong is recognized as the largest cave in the world.
With a maximum height of up to 440m, the cave can accommodate any other cave in the world inside it.
The cave has unique features such as the world's tallest stalagmite (over 70m), a separate weather system with clouds and rain in the cave, and rare rocks such as "phytocast".
Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, where Son Doong Cave is located, has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Site.
This area is also home to at least 7 newly discovered species.
To preserve the cave, the number of visitors is strictly limited. Visitors are only allowed to travel on a single path and can only visit from February to the end of August every year.
With an estimated age of about 2.3 million years, Hang Son Doong is a unique wonder that needs to be protected for future generations.
The cave's appearance in the BBC documentary not only introduced the beauty of Vietnam to the world but also raised awareness of the importance of preserving precious natural wonders.
