After a series of prolonged hot days, the first rains of the season have "awakened" Son La coffee areas to enter the third flower bloom - also the last one of the year.
From Chieng Mai, Chieng An, Muong Chanh to Muoi Noi, Nam Lau, pure white color covers the hillside, creating a natural picture that is both majestic and poetic.

Recorded in Chieng Mai commune - the key Arabica coffee region of the province, after rain, flowers bloom densely on each branch, stretching across the hillsides. Concrete roads weaving through coffee hills help people and tourists easily access and admire the flower season, which only lasts for a short time.
According to coffee growers, each year the tree blooms 2-3 times, each time lasting about 7-10 days. The 3rd flowering session at the end of April is important, decisive for the fruit setting rate of the new crop. This shortage makes the flowering season a "golden moment", expected by many people.
Just after a few nights of rain, the coffee hills that are experiencing drought seem to wake up, simultaneously blooming. Arabica coffee flowers have five pure white petals, pale yellow pistils, forming thick clusters along the stems and branches.
When the sun rises, the white color reflects the light, creating a feeling like "clouds descending the mountain", illuminating the space.

Not only beautiful visually, the flowers also carry a gentle, pure fragrance, spreading without being strong. This is also the time when wild bees come to suckle honey, creating coffee flower honey with a characteristic flavor.
Mr. Cam Van Hoang - Director of Sang Na Tre Cooperative (Chieng Mai commune) said that flowers are most beautiful in the early morning when mist and raindrops are still on the petals. "Standing in the middle of a white flower hill, it feels very peaceful. The light fragrance makes everyone want to stay longer," he shared.
At the model garden of Phuc Sinh Son La Joint Stock Company, these days attract many tourists to visit, take photos, and experience the flower coffee space.
Ms. Do Thi Ngoc Anh (To Hieu ward) said that the first time she witnessed the coffee hill blooming white, she felt like she was lost in a snowy region. "The flowers are not brilliant but pure, creating a comfortable and relaxing feeling," she said.
Sharing the same feeling, Ms. Le Nhu Quynh (Mai Son commune) said that coming to Son La in the flower blooming season is a lucky thing. Coffee hills follow each other, white, stretching out creating a scene that is both close and majestic.

Coffee trees have been associated with Son La for more than 20 years, becoming a key crop in economic development. The whole province currently has about 24,300 hectares of coffee, mainly Arabica varieties, with an annual fresh fruit output of over 300,000 tons.
Many areas have achieved sustainable certifications such as RA, 4C, VietGAP, catimor Son La first-line seedling garden and are shifting to organic production. Notably, more than 1,100 hectares of specialty coffee yield about 1,000 tons per year.
Mr. Vu Viet Thang - Director of Phuc Sinh Son La Joint Stock Company said that after the early summer rain, the last flower crop of this year blooms uniformly and thickly, which is a positive sign for the yield of the next crop. Previously, in the 2025 crop year, the purchasing price of fresh coffee fruit ranged from 25,000 to 35,000 VND/kg, helping growers improve their income.

With favorable weather and market trends, growers expect the new crop to continue to be "bumper crop, good price", while expanding exports to the EU, North America, the Middle East and ASEAN.
The coffee flower season not only signals a new crop but also creates unique landscape value, contributing to elevating the image and value of Son La coffee.
