On the evening of September 1st, Hoi An Creative Week 2026 with the theme "Journey to Touch Heritage, Touch Creativity" officially closed after days of many exchange, display, exhibition, seminar and training activities on creativity.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Pham Phu Ngoc - Director of the Hoi An World Cultural Heritage Conservation Center, Da Nang City - said that Hoi An Creative Week 2026 has closed but opened up many stories, many inspirations and new suggestions for the journey ahead.
From the stories of craft villages, folk tunes, traditional handicrafts, to contemporary designs, digital technology, creative spaces, young people's ideas and new forms of experience, all create a space where heritage is perceived with new perspectives, connected to contemporary life and closer to the public.
When talking about creativity in the ancient city of Hoi An, we started from a treasure, a solid foundation that was passed down by our ancestors. The task of our generation today is not to create a completely new Hoi An but to create new values from old values.
From memory, creating inspiration; from heritage, creating creativity and from creativity, making heritage continue to live, develop and last in the future," Mr. Ngoc emphasized.
At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee also awarded prizes to architects, designers, students to youth, artisans, residents and community creative groups in the Hoi An Creative Space Design Contest 2026.
Within the framework of the week, experts, artisans, artists, designers, creators, schools, young people and volunteers participate in many activities.
In particular, the Hoi An residential community is identified as the direct subjects preserving, practicing and transmitting heritage values through many generations.
The Organizing Committee expects that, on the foundation of special culture, community vitality and the companionship of domestic and international partners, Hoi An will continue to affirm the image of a vibrant heritage city, a creative space rich in identity.
