Blackpink's Jennie shares about her solo journey and reveals self-composed songs from her new album. She also reveals her personality.

On October 15 (Korean time), WIRED released an interview with Blackpink's Jennie on their YouTube channel. The interview was conducted in a question and answer format.

In it, Jennie answered questions based on popular Google search terms about the female idol.

When asked when she joined Blackpink, Jennie said: "I've always been a member of Blackpink. We released our debut single in August 2016."

Jennie shared about her time in New Zealand: "I moved to New Zealand when I was 9 and stayed there until I was 14. I used to have a very strong accent, but now I've completely lost it. I feel sad that people don't know I lived in New Zealand."

Regarding the release of her first solo song "SOLO", Jennie said, "It's been about 5-6 years. While preparing for Mantra, I looked back at the videos and pictures from when I was working on SOLO, and I looked so young and cute."

Jennie also talked about the difference between working as a solo artist and working in a group. She said that working as a solo artist is very different. Because if she works solo, she will be alone in the studio, but with a group, she and the members will discuss everything and come to an agreement if everyone agrees.

Now, as a solo act, she has to make all the decisions herself, and Jennie says that's the biggest difference.

When asked about her personality, Jennie said she is “very shy” and “the quietest” when she is with her friends. She added: “The person you see on stage is very different from the person in real life (meaning her personality on stage is different from her real life).”

Jennie's current favorite Blackpink song is Lovesick Girls, which she explained because it shows the cute and feminine side of Blackpink.
