Belonging to the psychological romance genre, "Shining" (tentatively translated: Light) revolves around the love story of train driver Yeon Tae Seo (Jinyoung) and hotel employee Mo Eun Ah (Kim Min Ju). At the age of 19, Tae Seo experienced a tragic accident, losing his parents, and his younger brother was seriously injured. His first love with Eun Ah also ended unexpectedly.
After 11 years - at the age of 30, the duo unexpectedly meet again. Not only healing past wounds, they once again continue the unfinished love story. Thanks to each other, Tae Seo and Eun Ah have a "light shining on the road", and step towards a future full of hope.
Regarding the work, Jinyoung said he was attracted by the realistic storytelling. The male star said that he wanted to participate because this is not only a beautiful youth story but also mentions the difficulties in real life that anyone can empathize with.
Regarding Yeon Tae Seo, Jinyoung assessed that this is a character "cold outside, warm inside" - the type of person that people often want to exist in real life. That is also the reason he wants to try his hand at the role.
We all know that it's best not to worry about what others think in life, but it's often not easy to avoid their gazes. However, Tae Seo lives his own life, not paying attention to other people's gazes. That's what I find most attractive about him," Jinyoung explained.
Taking on a character from 19 years old to adulthood, Jinyoung focuses on expressing Yeon Tae Seo's unchanged personality. The only difference is in the way the character faces his difficulties. The actor said he wants to show viewers that when adult, Tae Seo has more experience than when he was young.
Also according to Jinyoung, in this project, simple, everyday stories will be the most beautiful stories. In which, the story of the main couple reflects the emotions that we all experience at least once in our lives. He hopes that the audience will spend time watching the film and feel the message about youth, love, and maturity.
The movie "Shining" is scheduled to air on the evening of March 6.
