The Korean drama "Boyfriend on Demand" is currently ranked 5th on the Netflix global daily most watched TV show chart, as of March 8.
The film ranked Top 1 on Netflix in Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia and entered the Top 10 in dozens of other countries; showing the interest of audiences around the world in the work starring Jisoo (Blackpink), Seo In Guk and gathering a cast of famous guest actors.
However, besides the film's content, Jisoo's acting ability is still the most hot topic of discussion.
Recently, a crying scene of Jisoo in "Boyfriend Asked" has spread and caused great controversy.
In this scene, female lead Mi Rae (played by Jisoo) believes that male lead Park Kyeong Nam (Seo In Guk) was injured because she pushed him. She sobbed while running into the hospital.
That moment was built to show the female lead bursting into tears because she was really worried and interested in the male lead, in a humorous tone.
However, many viewers believe that Jisoo's acting did not convey the desired emotions.

The initial scene was shared on X with more than 70,000 views. The video uploader wrote with the comment: "She is really beautiful, but her acting is like being on airplane mode", implying that Jisoo's acting ability is completely "disconnected" from her beauty.
After that, the video continued to spread on the famous Korean forum Theqoo with a sensational post, attracting thousands of views and controversial comments about Jisoo's performance.
Korean audiences commented: "SERIOUSLY, her acting is really terrible"; "It's been a long time since I've seen acting crying and lacking emotion like that"; "Has she never cried because of such a thing in her life? Even so, she must have some observation skills.
I wish she had stopped acting"; "I understand it's a funny scene, but because the acting is too bad, it's not cute at all"...
Some viewers mentioned Jisoo's recent sharing on the program "Hyell's Club". According to the actress, on the last filming day of "Brother on Demand", many people in the film crew, including the director, were so moved that they burst into tears when the film officially wrapped up.
But Jisoo herself did not have such emotions. She said: "I saw the directors crying a lot, so I comforted them that: Everyone has worked hard already. But my tears did not fall...
Actually, I was thinking about that. On the last day of filming, I tried to delve into the emotions, but I didn't understand what made it sad... I was excited again and thought: "Who wants to take group photos?".
Jisoo's statement received many negative reactions. Harsh comments appeared on social networks, saying that Jisoo could not cry and be as emotional as everyone in the crew because she "did not really care or have a commitment and enthusiasm for the project".
This controversy is once again linked to the crying scene being ridiculed, causing the debate about Jisoo's acting ability to continue to erupt.
Meanwhile, Korean media frankly assessed that, in addition to beauty, Jisoo's acting "has not improved after 6 years of debuting as an actress".
