On the morning of February 26, the press conference to launch Netflix's original drama "Boyfriend on demand" was held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Dongdaemun, Seoul (Korea), with the participation of the main actors Jisoo (Blackpink), Seo In Guk, and director Kim Jung Sik.
Boyfriend on demand" is a romantic, fantasy comedy about Seo Mi Rae (played by Jisoo), a webtoon director who is exhausted from work and real-life relationships, who has registered for a "boyfriend on demand" service every month through virtual reality devices.
In the film, Jisoo plays a multifaceted character: an ordinary office worker in real life, but transforms into many different experts and characters, such as flight attendants, in the virtual world.
Regarding her first romantic comedy film challenge, Jisoo shared: "Since reading the script, I felt that the story of virtual reality is not something too far-fetched in the future.
Mi Rae is the same age as me, and the character's worries as well as the process of overcoming difficulties make me very sympathetic, so I chose to participate in this work".
She added: "Anh Seo In Guk has acted in many romantic movies, so I have followed his guidance.
In response, Seo In Guk also commented: "Mi Rae played by Jisoo is much more lovely and has an attraction that makes you want to hug her beyond the script.
When the host asked Jisoo: "Do you want to become a "romantic comedy goddess?", the actress replied: "Yes, I want to".

One of the highlights of this work is Jisoo's "performance" appearance. She shared: "I wore about 250 different outfits in this project. There are many different themes being prepared, so it will definitely be very interesting to watch.
In particular, regarding the lingering controversy about Jisoo's "acting skills", director Kim Jung Sik responded with strong confidence. He said: "Jisoo has handled more than 95% of screen time perfectly, excellently portraying different virtual reality characters.
She has worked very hard. Audiences can see Mi Rae's maturity in the film, but at the same time they will also see the maturity of actress Jisoo. Through observing her on set, I realized that "effort can surpass talent".
Director Kim Jung Sik also exclaimed: "I don't understand why she only acts in romantic comedies now.
Jisoo herself also expressed her confidence and shared: "Taking on many different roles, this time I talked more with the director to show my better side.
I have made efforts to find a acting style that suits me, and I hope everyone will say that I have found a character that is completely suitable for this project”.
The movie "Boyfriend on demand" will be released globally on Netflix on March 6.
