Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that the Nghinh Ong Can Gio Festival in 2025 is a special cultural event of Ho Chi Minh City - a gathering place for respect for the sea, the morality of drinking water and remembering the source and the desire to go offshore, sticking to the sea of the fishing community.

The Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee hopes that the rich and diverse activities will create impressive experiences, spreading the image of a dynamic and hospitable Can Gio to international tourists and friends when participating in the festival.
The festival is not only a festival for fishermen but also an opportunity for Ho Chi Minh City to introduce to friends near and far a unique land: mangrove forest - "green lung" of the city; architecture and beliefs of Ong Thuy Tuong Mausoleum; sincere and affectionate Can Gio people.

Through the festival, the city calls on the community to join hands to preserve heritage, develop green tourism, form unique products and services, improve people's livelihoods, and contribute to building Can Gio into a "Safe - Friendly - Different" destination.
With the diligence and overcoming difficulties in production labor of Can Gio commune people, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung congratulated Can Gio fishermen on having a bumper season of farming and fishing.

The opening art program brings to the people and tourists many special performances such as singing, music scenes, singing scenes and especially the performance of Ba Trao Singing - a type of folk performing art with a strong ceremonial nature of residents in the coastal area... The program takes place at Can Thanh Park, Can Gio Commune.
On the evening of October 5, the Can Gio Fishermen's Festival was also held. The celebration ceremony aims to commend and reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in production, aquaculture and fishing in the commune in 2025.

According to the People's Committee of Can Gio commune, the Nghinh Ong Can Gio Festival is a National Intangible Cultural Heritage and also the only traditional festival of local fishermen held annually.
This year's festival lasts until October 7 in Can Gio commune.
The ceremony includes many solemn activities such as the Visitation Ceremony of the Can Gio Sac Forest Martyrs' Cemetery, the Visitation Ceremony of the Sac Forest Heroes and Martyrs' Temple, the Opening Program, the Can Gio Fishermen's Merit Ceremony, the Nghinh Ong Ceremony at Sea and the ceremony to welcome the Nghinh delegation to Lang Ong...
