In early September, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article about the Mieu Co relic in the spiritual and cultural festival complex of the Dong Phi village pagoda cluster (Van Dinh commune, Hanoi). For many years, local people have reported the situation of Mieu Co space being encroached upon and illegally using public land.
At the Mieu Co complex, iron frame factories have been formed, surrounded by corrugated iron, encroaching on the relic space to serve wood production.
This greatly affects the worship, incense burning, offerings and traditional festival organization of the local people.
After receiving a report from Lao Dong Newspaper, the People's Committee of Van Dinh Commune issued Document No. 283/UBND-VP assigning "The Commune Economic Department sent staff and experts to inspect the current status and use of public land in the Mieu Co relic area...".
Recently, on October 1, the Commune Economic Department issued a Report on the results of the inspection of land use situation in the Mieu Co relic area.
The inspection results showed that the Mieu Co area (Mieu Bai) in Hau Xa village originated as public land managed by the People's Committee of Phuong Tu commune (old) now Van Dinh commune. The plot of land in Hau Xa village was leased to Mr. Le Van Tam's household. On May 31, 2025, Hau Xa village signed a contract for lease with Mr. Le Van Tam to liquidate.
"However, through the inspection of the current status of the land plot on August 15, 2025, it shows that Mr. Le Van Tam is still using the above land plot for wood production purposes" - The Report said.
The inspection results also clearly stated that the Association of the Elderly in Hau Xa village in the period of 2008 - 2015 and the cadres of Hau Xa village in the period of 2015 - 2025 leased a contractor to Mr. Le Van Tam in the Mieu Co area ( Bai Mieu) from 2008 to 2025, which is not in accordance with the provisions of law.
The Commune Economic Department requested the People's Committee of Van Dinh Commune to request Hau Xa Village to strictly comply with the liquidation contract with Mr. Le Van Tam, and request Mr. Le Van Tam to clear all assets and factories to return public land to the People's Committee of Van Dinh Commune for management according to regulations. At the same time, it was announced that Mr. Le Van Tam was required to dismantle the construction and move all assets and structures out of the leased land location with Hau Xa village.
According to Lao Dong reporter's research, protecting the original space of the Mieu Co area has been a burning issue for local people for many years. According to the people, Mieu Co is located on a square land of more than 1,000 square meters. The difficulty is also the relic is located in the border area between Dong Phi and Hau Xa villages.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (79 years old, Association of the Elderly in Dong Phi village) said that Mieu Co is associated with the story of Thanh Hoang in Dong Phi village, Dinh Dynasty's phos in the history of the disorder of 12 ambassadors. In 1997, the Dong Phi village pagoda relic cluster was recognized as a Historical and Cultural Relic. People have submitted many petitions to add the Temple of Literature to the relic cluster but it has not been completely resolved.

Not only that, the current situation of Mieu Co space continuing to be encroached upon and encroached upon has caused many concerns.
Therefore, the representative of the people of Dong Phi village continued to submit a petition to the People's Committee of Van Dinh commune to clear all illegal construction and production works in the Mieu Co area, returning the worship space to its original state to serve religious needs. At the same time, people also requested measures to prevent and prevent illegal encroachment and construction in the Mieu Co area in the future.
