Moviegoers need to be more responsible

Many artists expressed concern about the situation of secret filming, spoiling films and then spreading them on social networks. Tran Thanh has repeatedly spoken out to ask for help from the audience.

The scourge of secret filming, spoiling films (revealing film details) and then posting them on social networks is becoming a burning issue of Vietnamese cinema.

Many producers believe that just a few clips posted on TikTok are enough to seriously affect the movie viewing experience and revenue of the work.

Tran Thanh repeatedly cried for help and almost begged the audience to support Vietnamese films by "don't film secretly, don't spoil, don't watch illegally".

Talking to Lao Dong, supermodel - producer Xuan Lan said: "I think that is a headache for all producers. Cinema needs social media (social networks) to promote, but it is also heavily damaged by social media.

According to the supermodel, just a few clips being leaked on TikTok can reveal important film content before audiences go to theaters. This not only reduces the feeling of enjoyment but also directly affects film revenue.

Xuan Lan believes that the cases of heavy film losses in the past are also a warning to the audience to understand that "freedom" when filming clips and posting film content sometimes affects a lot of effort and dedication of the entire crew.

Sharing the same view, director Luk Van said: "I think that filming secretly or distributing illegal films is a very worrying issue nowadays. A film is the effort of the whole crew for a long time, so when the work just hits theaters and is widely shared online, it has a very big impact.

According to Luk Van, filmmakers are excited that functional agencies are increasingly drastic in protecting film copyright.

However, the most important thing is still the awareness of viewers in respecting art products.

The female director emphasized that spoiling the film also directly ruins the audience's experience. "When a film is secretly filmed and then posted each segment online, it loses the original emotion of the film. In my opinion, this greatly affects the audience who really want to enjoy the full work in theaters," Luk Van added.

Artist Quyen Linh - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Cinema Association said that the current copyright infringement situation is putting great pressure on many production teams.

A film project requires a lot of time, funding and human resources, so it is regrettable that the work is illegally distributed right during the screening period.

The Vice Chairman of the Cinema Association hopes that audiences will raise awareness, not film clips in theaters or share violating content to contribute to building a more civilized cinema environment.

Currently, the problem of illegal distribution of cinematic works is rampant in many countries around the world.

The Korean blockbuster "Catching the Ghost Grave" as soon as it was released in theaters and had outstanding appeal in the market, immediately had pirated versions on websites.

The American Film Association has announced that the amount of money lost when online films are illegally released is up to 6 billion USD per year.

Not to mention, going to pirated websites to watch movies also makes viewers face many risks such as personal information being stolen, linking to black websites containing viruses, participating in fraudulent websites...

Talking to Lao Dong reporters, Director of the Department of Cinema Dang Tran Cuong said that in the near future, the Copyright Office will be the lead unit, coordinating with the Department of Cinema, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information and functional units of the Ministry of Public Security such as the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, the Department of Police Investigation of Corruption, Economic, and Smuggling Crimes, the Institute of Criminal Science... to deploy inspections of subjects exploiting and using illegal cinematic works in the online environment.

In addition, the Director of the Department of Cinema also called on the audience's awareness when watching movies, to cherish copyright, cherish the labor of the film crew.

When audiences are aware of watching copyrighted films - it has also helped the film industry a lot.
