On June 3, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung signed a decision to announce the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
According to the signed decision, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism included "Khanh Hoa Incense Broth Exploitation and Processing Festival" in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage (Folcal Culture) list.
A day earlier, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also included the Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Festival in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
The consecutive recognition of the two typical heritages of the locality not only affirms the unique cultural values but also contributes to preserving and promoting the heritages associated with the livelihoods and cultural identity of the people of Khanh Hoa.
Along with Tram Huong mining, the bird's nest mining in Khanh Hoa has existed since before the 17th century, when local residents took bird's nest in caves on coastal islands. At that time, there were elementary religious rituals, praying for the gods to support those who took the bird's nest.

By the seventeenth century, the profession of bird's nest exploitation was concerned by the Nguyen Dynasty, strictly managed and the ritual of worshiping the ancestors and the gods became an important tradition. Since then, the temple of bird's nest has begun to be built on the islands of Yen and the mainland in Nha Trang.
From the beginning of the twentieth century until before 1975, the bird's nest festival became a traditional custom, associated with the life of the bird's nest in Khanh Hoa. The richer and more diverse worship rituals with the sacrifice of the Sacrifice, the worshiping ceremony of the Spirit to protect the bird's nest and pray for favorable harvesting crops. Local authorities and nest organizations have played an important role in maintaining and preserving the festival.
Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Festival has gone through many stages of development from the early beliefs of the community of residents in Vinh Nguyen, Phuoc Hai, Vinh Truong, Vinh Hai, Vinh Hoa, Phuoc Long, Phuong Son, Phuong Sai wards and Phuoc Dong, Vinh Luong communes - Nha Trang city; now it has become an important festival of the locality. Maintaining this festival is not only spiritual but also contributes to preserving the traditional culture of Khanh Hoa province.
At the end of 2024, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued a decision to recognize Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Exploitation and Processing Knowledge as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
