Kim Lien relic site applies 4.0 technology, optimally serving tourists

QUANG ĐẠI |

Kim Lien National Special Historical Relic Site (Nam Dan, Nghe An) pioneers the application of 4.0 technology and artificial intelligence (AI), bringing modern and attractive experiences to visitors.

Pioneer in applying 4.0 technology

As a memorial site for President Ho Chi Minh built in his hometown with many original relics (Uncle Ho's paternal and maternal homes, Hoang Thi Loan's tomb, Chung mountain...), every year, Kim Lien National Historical Relic Site attracts millions of domestic and foreign tourists, welcoming hundreds of delegations to offer incense, flowers, report achievements, and commemorate.

To improve the quality of service for groups of visitors and visitors, from December 2022, the relic site of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan's tomb (mother of President Ho Chi Minh) will put into operation digital technology to serve visitors. With 360-degree VR virtual technology and augmented reality AR technology, visitors can use the available screen to visit and experience the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan.

Here, visitors can also visit the tomb of Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac (father of President Ho Chi Minh) in Dong Thap province.

On occasions of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday or important events, Kim Lien Relic Site opens all three areas: Sen Village, Hoang Tru Village and Hoang Thi Loan's tomb to serve visitors.

Mr. Nguyen Bao Tuan - Director of Kim Lien National Special Historical Relic Site - said that the relic site is a pioneer in digitizing relics to improve service quality.

“The management board of the relic site has installed a touch screen application in the traditional house space to better serve the needs of visitors, while digitizing the relic in the current context of digital transformation. Through clicking and touching, visitors can experience many different locations and areas in the panoramic space of the relic site. Or, with a smartphone, visitors can scan the QR Code to visit and take virtual reality photos as souvenirs. Visitors and the screen can access 10,224 valuable document photo files about Uncle Ho and Kim Lien Relic Site” - Mr. Nguyen Bao Tuan said.

Digitizing documents and applying touch screens creates great appeal, attracting the attention of many tourists, especially young people.

Applying AI technology to tourist management and service

Currently, Kim Lien Relic Site is developing a project to apply multimedia automatic tour explanation technology on the 4.0 digital technology platform (Tour Guide System Apps). The application platform allows administrators to simultaneously deploy multiple languages for each explanation content, location introduction content, helping to attract tourists from many different countries, in order to best serve visitors.

To use the service, visitors only need to download the app and install it on their phone. Along with that, the application uses an artificial intelligence platform, allowing voice recognition and AI voice response. Visitors can easily look up the desired information about the monument and the area they are visiting. The application's response data is completely automatic using voice audio data.

Virtual assistants (VAs) interact with users similarly to chatbots but are more intelligent and customizable thanks to Machine Learning technology, natural language analysis, context management... Therefore, VAs can remember and use collected data to give contextual responses, learn and become smarter over time.

"Currently, all preparations have been completed. Once the project is approved by the Department of Culture and Sports, we will immediately begin implementation to meet the diverse needs of a large number of domestic and international tourists," said Mr. Nguyen Bao Tuan.
