Innovation in operating methods
Currently, the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City directly manages the Museum of Fine Arts, the Cham Museum, the Da Nang Museum, the Museum of Military Zone 5 - the Ho Chi Minh Museum Branch in Da Nang and other non-public museums.
According to the Department of Culture and Sports, museum activities have recently developed in both quantity and quality. In addition to traditional methods of operation, museums have recently focused on education, finding ways to integrate museums into the lives of students, youth and associations.
Some museums in Da Nang also bring topics to the grassroots, introducing the museum's activities in residential areas. Some museums with special characteristics such as the Fine Arts Museum have programs such as creative activities, organizing visual art creations suitable for the artists' activities.
“Communication and mobilization of donations from domestic and foreign collectors have contributed greatly to the development of museums. Most recently, there was the Le Ba Dang collection donated by Mr. and Mrs. Le Tat Luyen and Thuy Khue to the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum. Before that, there were very large Japanese collectors who owned many works of art from Vietnam and Indochina. Thereby affirming the management and dissemination capacity of the museum”, said Mr. Ha Vy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City.
Applying technology to operations
In early November, the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum officially launched the Le Ba Dang art exhibition space donated by Mr. and Mrs. Thuy Khue - Le Tat Luyen. This space displays 38 artifacts and 113 Le Ba Dang art documents. This is one of the great successes for a young museum like the Fine Arts Museum. Since the beginning of the year, the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum has organized more than 10 exhibition events with more than 20,000 domestic and international visitors attending.
Previously, in 2023, the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum also applied VR360 technology to its exhibition and display activities. Through VR360 technology, users can move, explore, feel and experience in the most realistic way by operations such as moving forward, backward, turning left, right to get the most realistic views at the museum.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Trinh - Deputy Director of Da Nang Fine Arts Museum, in addition to applying digital technology and virtual reality technology in sightseeing, Da Nang Fine Arts Museum also promotes communication through exhibitions and art performances.
“Because fine arts and culture are activities that create depth for the identity of Da Nang city, the Fine Arts Museum has always focused on how to educate and improve aesthetic taste, spirit and love for the homeland. In addition to the museum’s collections, we are also interested in collecting works of art, sketches, and sculptures with themes of revolution and patriotism…”, Ms. Nguyen Thi Trinh shared.
