ĐÔNG DU |

After Chi Pu, Phuong My Chi is a Vietnamese artist "making waves" on game shows in China.

In 2023, Chi Pu attracted attention as the first Vietnamese artist to participate in the program "Sister Riding the Wind" in China. Initially, she was not expected by domestic audiences because the female singer was not highly appreciated for her singing voice.

However, during the time participating in "Sisters Riding the Wind", Chi Pu showed her outstanding qualities such as dance, fashion, and openness to connect with international artists. This helped her go deep in the competition, even winning many subsidiary awards after the show ended.

From this momentum, Chi Pu received many other game shows in China, gained a large number of international fans and became friends with many new artists, including Huang Xiaoming.

It is undeniable that, after the strong effect that Chi Pu created in China, Vietnamese artists also strongly participated in international game shows.

Among them, Suni Ha Linh also participated in "Sisters Who Ride the Wind" after Chi Pu. Currently, Phuong My Chi is the top name in the show "sing! Asia".

Phuong My Chi's performances have caused a stir in the Asian music music music music community. Her special singing voice, emotional depth and good stage interaction are the strengths that help her shine and create a difference among a series of artists competing fiercely.

At the quarter-final round recorded in Hong Kong (China), broadcast on the afternoon of June 27, Phuong My Chi sang "Bong Phuong Hoa" (composed by DTAP), inspired by the story Nam Xuong's daughter. The highlight of the performance was the choreography performed in Chinese and the singer's high notes. Currently, the performance has reached more than 1.7 million views and is in the top 3 trending trends on YouTube.

Judge Truong Luong Dinh said he liked the way Phuong My Chi expressed Vietnamese culture in each performance.

Phuong My Chi then won the quarter-finals of the contest, leading singer Hoang Linh (China) with a vote of 15 out of 21 judges.

Previously, in the filming session in Singapore, the Gen Z singer performed the mashup of Ly Bac Bo (Ba Cong di mua dong market, Ly Da, Ba La Mi, Da Co Xe) composed by DTAP, inspired by the cultural life of the Northern people.

According to Chinese music producer Long Han, one of the 21 online judges, Phuong My Chi boldly experimented with combining folk music with many modern elements.

In the first performance of the program, Phuong My Chi sang Buon trang (composed by DTAP), partly inspired by the work Day thon Vi Da by poet Han Mac Do.

Judge To Huu Bang and Truong Luong Dinh and Dan Truong were both excited by the performance of the Gen Z singer.

Phuong My Chi once chose to sing "Rock rice grains", competed with contestants from Japan and won, becoming the Vietnam Station King (the name given by the organizing committee for the contestants who won each performance - according to the filming location). These of her performances also attracted attention, all of which entered the top 10 trending trends on YouTube.

Thus, it can be seen that after Chi Pu, Phuong My Chi is a Vietnamese artist who made a strong impression on Chinese game shows. Many audiences believe that Phuong My Chi will achieve great success in " Sing! Asia" and even created a strong effect, gaining a large fan base that was not inferior to her seniors.

Because compared to Chi Pu, Phuong My Chi also has an advantage in her singing voice. But she also faces many challenges in how to convey Vietnamese culture and music to international audiences.

However, no matter what direction they are taking, it is clear that the common point between Phuong My Chi and Chi Pu is that they both have a strong desire to conquer the international market and participate in the program with the most serious and methodical attitude.

From the effects of Chi Pu and Phuong My Chi, the audience has more expectations for a generation of young artists who dare to experiment and dare to reach great seas.
