2025 will mark many outstanding marks of the Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism sector in institutional improvement, organization of large-scale activities and events and promotion of sustainable development. A series of cultural, information, sports and tourism events were successfully organized, contributing to affirming the national position, spreading the image and value of Vietnam to the region and the world.
In order to recognize and honor those outstanding results and marks, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigned the Culture Newspaper to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to organize the voting for 10 outstanding Cultural, Sports and Tourism events in 2025.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu - Editor-in-Chief of the Culture Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee - said that last year, with many important anniversaries of the country, the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector made important contributions, clearly demonstrating its role in organizing major events.
In addition, the cultural industry, especially the performing arts sector, has left a strong impression. The work of building and perfecting institutions also left many outstanding marks.
The Organizing Committee received a total of 135 nominations from 50 units and organizations, from which to vote to select 30 events to submit to the Organizing Committee. From this list, the Organizing Committee continues to compile and select 15 events, and deploy the Voting for 10 typical Cultural, Sports and Tourism events in 2025.
The voting activity was organized in two forms. The direct vote took place on December 23, 2025 in Hanoi with the participation of representatives of central and local press agencies. At the same time, online voting will be held on the E-Culture Newspaper, the Social networking platforms of the Culture Newspaper and the Electronic Information Portal of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (http://bvhttdl.gov.vn), from 8:00 a.m. on December 23, 2025 to 9:00 a.m. on December 25, 2025.
List of 15 events to vote for 10 typical events in 2025:
1. The work of building and perfecting institutions has changed very positively, being a highlight in 2025, a bright spot of the entire term, creating a solid foundation for the culture, sports and tourism sector to firmly enter a new era.
2. The National Achievements Exhibition with the theme "80 years of independence - freedom - Happiness" is organized on the largest scale ever.
3. Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press (June 21,25-21, June 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Cultural Sector (August 28, 1945-28, August 2025), General Secretary To Lam issued important instructions and development orientations in the new period.
4. Continue to affirm the stature of Vietnamese heritage in the international arena when there are up to four heritages of the first types honored by UNESCO during the year.
5. The UNESCO General Assembly approved the initiative " international decade of culture for sustainable development" proposed by Vietnam.
6. Vietnam shines at the Expo 2025 Japan World Exhibition; makes a global mark at the World Cultural Festival for the first time.
7. Impressive "Vietnamese Inspiration" at the 3rd National Press Award Ceremony "For the Development of Vietnamese Culture" - 2025.
8. A series of cultural and artistic events celebrate important events during the year, creating a positive social effect; the explosive year of the Vietnam Music Festival, making a brilliant mark at home and abroad, promoting the development of the cultural industry.
9. For the first time, "Happy Vietnam Festival - Vietnam Happy Fest" was held as a series of meaningful activities, spanning continuously.
10. The 3rd Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF III) with many new points, the 24th Vietnam Film Festival and the mark of the film "Red Rain".
11. Vietnam successfully organized the ASEAN Ministers' Conference on Sports and related conferences in 2025.
12. The Vietnam men's football team convincingly won the ASEAN Cup championship.
13. The Vietnamese Sports Delegation competed hard, entering the Top 3 of the 33rd SEA Games.
14. Vietnam's tourism has grown the most impressively in the world according to the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), surpassing the mark of over 20 million international visitors and over 130 million domestic visitors for the first time.
15. The 2025 Vietnam Tourism Awards returned after 5 years and are held for the first time every 5 years.
