The film "Red Rain" by director Dang Thai Huyen continues to create new achievements at the Vietnamese box office. According to statistics from Box Office Vietnam, as of the evening of August 31, the work had a revenue of 340 billion VND, after only 9 days of release. This achievement helped "Red Rain" surpass "The Four Guardians" - Tran Thanh's 2025 Tet film with 322 billion VND.
On average, "Red Rain" has more than 5,000 screenings per day with a high theater occupancy rate, showing special appeal to the audience. With this growth rate, experts say that the film will soon reach the milestone of 400 billion VND, or even 500 billion VND.
This achievement helped "Red Rain" affirm its strong appeal to the audience, despite fierce competition at the box office at the end of August.
The film attracted a large audience thanks to its meaningful revolutionary theme, magnificent setting and a cast that was highly appreciated for their acting. Many cinemas across the country recorded sold-out tickets during weekend screenings.
In addition, "Red Rain" set another record. In the ranking of the fastest Vietnamese films to reach the 300 billion VND mark, "Red Rain" is currently only behind "Mai" by Tran Thanh (2024) - it took 8 days to achieve the same result, while the project "Red Rain" took 9 days.
The work "Red Rain" has surpassed a series of previous records: Lat mat 7: A uoc mo cua Ly Hai (2024) took more than 11 days, Ba gia (2021) and Nha Ba Nu (2023) both took about 12 days, while the Four Guardians took up to 13 days to reach the 300 billion VND mark.
