The bad atmosphere of bad movies
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), hostile forces have increased their dissemination of anti-destruction speeches. They distort that September 2 has no meaning because it does not really bring freedom and independence to the Vietnamese people. They believe that this event leads to war and suffering instead of peace because after that, the Vietnamese people have to sacrifice 9 more years of resistance against French colonialism and 21 years of resistance against the US...
The purpose of those speeches is not other than to deny the value and significance of National Day 2.9, causing the masses to lose faith in the history of the nation and the leadership role of the Communist Party; dividing the great national unity bloc, weakening patriotism and national self-respect; serving the " peaceful development" plot of hostile and reactionary forces.
The significance of National Day 2.9 is undeniable
The truth has clearly affirmed the great historical significance of the National Day event on September 2 for the Vietnamese people. First of all, it is necessary to see that National Day September 2 is an inevitable result of the August Revolution led by the Indochinese Communist Party (now the Communist Party of Vietnam). Since its inception (February 3, 1930), our Party has played a pioneering role, leading the people in the struggle for national liberation, building forces, and carefully preparing in all aspects for the General Uprising. The path to saving the country in the right direction has been determined by our Party, which is: Liberating the nation by the way of a provinceless revolution, linking the national movement with the workers' movement... In each stage, our Party and leader Nguyen Ai Quoc set out and adjusted the strategic policies accordingly. From the National United Front to the struggle for democratic people and the launch of armed uprising. In 1941, our Party decided to establish and lead the Viet Minh Front, building a revolutionary base. When Japan surrendered to the Allies (8/1945), our Party promptly seized the historic opportunity to launch a General Uprising nationwide with the slogan: "Even if we have to burn down the entire Truong Son range, we must still gain independence". Without the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, there would be no unity, no careful preparation, and it would be impossible to seize the opportunity to take power so quickly.
The National Day event on September 2 affirmed the freedom and independence of the Vietnamese people after nearly a century of being patronized by colonialism and feudal fealty. Opening the period of people's mastery, building a state of the people, by the people and for the people. This is a major turning point in the process of the Vietnamese revolution and an event of international stature, inspiring the movement for national liberation struggles in many other colonial countries.
Resistance after the revolution is inevitable
After its birth, the State of Vietnam had to face a very complicated situation of "inside, outer war", with difficulties piled up like "a scale hanging on hair". In particular, the French colonialists are plotting to find ways to restore their dominance. In that context, our Party, headed by President Ho Chi Minh, led the nation to conduct a 9-year "all-people, comprehensive" resistance war against French colonialism and ended with the Dien Bien Phu Historical Campaign "Fire of the five continents, Shook the earth".
The people's resistance war against French colonialism was successful, forcing the French colonialists to sit at the negotiating table and sign the Geneva Agreement (July 21, 1954). Although the Geneva Conference recognized the principles of independence, unity and territorial integrity of Vietnam, however, with the intention of intervention and aggression, the US did not sign the final statement of the conference and jumped into South Vietnam to replace French colonialism, encroaching on the South with a new colonial policy under the wrong-handed government of Ngo Dinh Diem. Vietnam is temporarily cut off into two regions, the South - the North, with the military border being the 17th parallel.
From now on, at the same time, our nation must carry out two different revolutionary strategies in the two regions. The North conducts the socialist revolution, while in the South continues to implement the strategy of national revolution, democracy, and people, focusing on the struggle to liberate the South and unify the country. Despite facing countless difficulties, hardships, and many sacrifices, under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnamese people overcame and won many victories. Especially in the South, under the leadership of the Party, the army and people of the whole country carried out the resistance war against the US to save the country. With the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of 1975, the peak of which was the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, our army and people completely liberated the South and unified the country.
Thus, after the National Day event on September 2, the Vietnamese people had to fight a war due to the complicated historical context at that time. The times force the Vietnamese people to stand up to protect the achievements of the revolution and national independence are inevitable. The victory that our army and people won over the two resistance wars further affirmed the stature, value and significance of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2. All distorted arguments denying the value of this historical event are wrong, phanproductive, and need to be resolutely fought and eliminated.
