Red Rain becomes the 6th Vietnamese film to surpass the 200 billion VND mark in 2025

ĐÔNG DU |

On August 28, the film "Red Rain" officially reached the 200 billion VND mark, becoming the sixth work of Vietnamese cinema to join the "200 billion club" in 2025.

This achievement helped "Red Rain" affirm its strong appeal to the audience, despite fierce competition at the box office at the end of August.

According to data from the publisher, after only about 67 days, "Red Rain" quickly reached this revenue milestone

The film attracted a large audience thanks to its meaningful revolutionary theme, magnificent setting and a cast that was highly appreciated for their acting. Many cinemas across the country recorded sold-out tickets during weekend screenings.

Before "Red Rain", Vietnamese cinema in 2025 had 5 works reaching the 200 billion VND mark: The Four Guardians (322 billion VND), Investigator Kien: The Unheard Project (249 billion VND), The paternal House (243 billion VND), Lat mat 8: Sun Rings (232 billion VND) and The billion-dollar kiss (212 billion VND). The fact that many Vietnamese films have continuously surpassed the high revenue threshold shows that the domestic market is developing stably, and audiences are increasingly prioritizing choosing works produced by Vietnamese people if the projects are of good quality.

With the current growth rate, observers predict that "Red Rain" could continue to break through, even challenging the leading group of the year. The film's achievements not only affirm the position of the production crew but also contribute to strengthening the belief in the resilience of Vietnamese cinema in the new period.
