On the morning of March 12 in Hanoi, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung worked with the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information (Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism).

Reporting on the task group related to cross-border social network management, Director of the Department of Information and Communications Le Quang Tu Do said that the Department has been scanning and promptly preventing fake news, bad, toxic, and untrue information on social networks, especially cross-border social networks. Maintain the rate of blocking and removing bad and toxic information at a high level (over 92%).
The Department will also require cross-border platforms to authenticate user accounts, have electronic tools to receive and handle complaints from service users about content, services, provide search engines... according to the regulations in Decree 147/2024/ND-CP on management, provision and use of internet services and information on the network; strengthen review, coordination in handling and preventing copyright violations in cyberspace...
Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to urgently coordinate with the Department of Culture, Family and Library to continue to complete the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Advertising; coordinate with the Department of Press to complete the dossier of the draft Press Law (amended). These are all draft laws that the National Assembly is very interested in, so they must ensure the right progress and quality.

Regarding the management of social networking sites, the Minister noted that this is a complex problem, and to effectively solve it, many solutions need to be synchronized from regulations and techniques.
Currently, hostile subjects are continuously taking advantage of social networking sites to carry out acts of sabotage against the Party and the State, so there must be solutions to prevent them in a timely and drastic manner.
In addition to continuing to review and perfect the legal framework, the Minister said that there should be stronger, more drastic, and more scientific solutions to manage social networks in accordance with the Law on Cyber Security and Decree 147/2024/ND-CP. In particular, there is the synchronization of solutions to shorten the time to remove and prevent fake, bad, and toxic information; especially the application of artificial intelligence.
The Minister emphasized that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism must strengthen coordination with press and media agencies to increase propaganda and raise user awareness of building a behavioral culture in cyberspace; continue to research, review and supplement the contents of the Code of Conduct on social networks.
