At the Conference on deploying work in March 2025 on the afternoon of March 3, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung emphasized that the field of press and publishing management has a large workload, and the demand for questioning in this field is increasingly high.
In the context of increasingly developing science and technology, exploding multimedia media, the press must maintain its role as a media agency, a " cau" to convey the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws to the people. At the same time, it demonstrated the power of propaganda, encouragement and orientation for the people.
According to the Minister, entering a new era, an era of development and building a prosperous country, the tasks assigned to the press management of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism must be very clear.
"We must study management carefully, what we are doing must continue to be done well, management must be "right in the role, know the lesson" as the leaders of the Party and State have repeatedly emphasized. We must manage the press by the state, not journalism," the Minister stated.
The Minister requested to proactively review legal regulations in the field of journalism, assess the current situation to advise and fully supplement legal regulations for full and synchronousness.
In addition, focus on the management of licensing activities for newspapers and publishers. Pay attention to the "pre-inspection" stage and also do a good job of "post-inspection", especially in managing information in the context of the current strong development of the internet and social networks.
In particular, management must use inspection, examination and supervision tools of competent authorities.
"Management is not to ban but to create space for development. At the same time, we must focus on international cooperation in journalism," said the Minister, adding that there is still a lot of work ahead, new and old units in the ministry must share and interact to help each other complete their tasks well.
Regarding specific tasks in the coming time, the Minister said that culture - this is a fundamental field, playing an important role.
Second, we must immediately start implementing the National Target Program on Cultural Development for the period 2025 - 2035.
Third, it is necessary to organize events well to celebrate major holidays and important events of the country in 2025.
Regarding tourism, the Minister said that the goal of welcoming 22-23 million international visitors in 2025 is not a simple task in the current context. Therefore, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism must make efforts, enhance the communication effect, find solutions to promote tourist attraction.
Regarding sports, the Minister said that we must actively prepare for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand at the end of this year and must continue to make the highest efforts.
The Minister also requested the serious implementation of Conclusion No. 70 of the Politburo on the development of physical exercise and sports in the new period. Realize with specific plans and work in this March.
The Minister noted that it is necessary to quickly issue regulations on the functions and tasks of departments, branches and units under the Ministry in the coming time.
