A series of artistic programs rich in identity
In January 2026, the Vietnam National Drama Theatre brought a series of activities including the play "The Rest" (played on January 10 and 24) and the program "Uncle Ho - A Vast Love" (December 25, 2025 and January 25, 2026).
The play "The Rest" is a poignant story about soldiers in the post-war period, where losses, concerns and silent feelings intertwine, leaving many reflections for viewers. Meanwhile, "Uncle Ho - A Vast Love" approaches the image of Him through four short plays, depicting the simple, kind beauty and deep love Uncle Ho has for the people.
The National Traditional Stage Theater of Vietnam successively serves the public with the Cheo play "Bac Le Temple" (January 17) and Cai Luong opera "Mat troi dem the ky" (Mat troi dem the ky) (January 24). On January 18, the Vietnam Circus Federation introduced the program "Celebrating the Party, celebrating Spring" with creative scenes, harmoniously combining circus, music, dance and modern stage technology.
Previously, on December 27-28, 2025, the Vietnam Puppet Theater organized a free performance of the program "Emotions of Long Thanh". Through the symbolic puppetry language, the program takes viewers back in time, stepping into the space of Thang Long - Hanoi with a thousand-year historical depth.
On January 6 and 7, 2026, the Vietnam Youth Theater will serve the audience with the art program "Heart of the Guide". The center of the program is the play of the same name by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Ky, depicting the image of President Ho Chi Minh with the role of leading the Vietnamese revolution to independence and freedom. Combined with familiar songs written about him, the program cultivates living ideals and arouses love for homeland and country for students in the Capital.
Innovating the way of expressing and spreading emotions to the audience
Although carrying the breath of politics, art performance programs and performances are all implemented in the spirit of innovation, avoiding the style of expression that is heavily based on illustration or rigidity. Instead, creative artistic language combined with diversity of types helps convey messages and ideas in a vivid, emotional way, suitable for each audience group.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Meritorious Artist Kieu Minh Hieu - Director of the Vietnam National Drama Theatre said: "With close and touching content, the first performance of the program Uncle Ho - a vast love at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in the morning rush hour still attracted about 200 spectators to watch. With the play "What's Left" on January 10, the Theater opened online ticket registration and sold out in less than 2 minutes. Many spectators regretted that there was no more space.
After the launch, the performances all received positive feedback from the public. That is also proof of the effectiveness of the new way of organizing performances, when art both performs political tasks and meets the increasingly high entertainment needs of viewers.
With "Heart of the Guide", Meritorious Artist Nguyen Si Tien - Director of the Vietnam Youth Theater - said that the program is aimed at young audiences, contributing to bringing the image of President Ho Chi Minh closer to viewers. Thanks to a flexible and diverse approach, art programs contribute to creating a spirit towards the country's important political event.
