Children's Music is a composition for children with simple and healthy lyrics that help guide children's thoughts, such as: Loving parents, doing good work... There are many children's songs that have become classics and are played for children every day, such as: Two Ducks, My Teacher, Two Lizards...
However, in the past year, the above-mentioned songs have been modified with many styles and new lyrics flooding social media. This has caused mixed reactions from the audience.
Among them, the song "You are the seedling of the Party" composed by musician Mộng Lân in 1958 has suddenly become popular again and has been uploaded to social media platforms by many people. Initially, it was a cover version with different vocal styles that created a good effect on listeners and viewers.
However, recently, some modified versions with negative and misleading lyrics have been released, such as: Bamboo shoots report bamboo trees (meaning that children are naughty and harm adults, parents); or the modified lyrics "burning dry grass sets the neighbor's house on fire" - which is quite dangerous and corrupts the soul of children.
Notably, these modified songs have been used as background music for many videos uploaded to TikTok. This has caused the spread of these songs with obscene lyrics. Not only have people written new lyrics that are obscene for children's songs, but also remixing the new versions has been a topic of controversy.
Recently, singer Thu Minh was a guest on the Trẻ Concert program. In addition to performing a series of songs for students such as Clouds Passing Over the Threshold, Flying..., the singer also attracted attention when she brought a new version of "Two Lizards" - a song familiar to young children.
In this performance, Thu Minh had the opportunity to showcase her strong voice, which is already a trademark of hers. However, her way of performing was met with mixed opinions from the online community. Many people thought that the singer's decision to remake a familiar children's song was not suitable.
Additionally, Thu Minh's habit of speaking in a deep voice made listeners feel uncomfortable and devalued the song.
Earlier, actor Lê Dương Bảo Lâm modified the Doraemon song, which became a topic of controversy. The content of this modified song was nonsense, but the actor repeatedly performed it in game shows like Sàn đấu ca từ, Khuôn mặt đáng tin... in official programs or videos shot in the background that had passed the censorship of the broadcasting station.
We Need to Get Rid of obscene music that is Harmful to Children
If you search for the keyword "obscene music for bamboo shoots" on TikTok, you can easily find clips of modified songs with obscene lyrics flooding the platform. Notably, some clips have gained millions of views. Meanwhile, TikTok and other social media platforms still do not have policies to limit the age of viewers.
In the last week of June 2024, "bamboo shoots" became one of the top 10 most popular topics on social media. It would be worrying if the modified song is currently a "hot trend" among young people.
Composer Nguyễn Văn Chung, who has written many children's songs, said that he does not agree with the fact that many people modify children's songs with obscene lyrics, distorting the message. Therefore, it can be seen that with children's songs, we need to get rid of harmful modified songs and avoid making obscene lyrics a trend, causing many negative consequences for young people.
