Winter of the Horse" is a special collection of short stories, poems, essays, historical research, fine arts, and music composed by many authors and painters who wholeheartedly inspired Spring and the Horse mascot of the Year of the Horse.
The book opens up a multi-colored Vietnamese Tet space: From the fireplace of banh chung, green tea bowls on Tet, peaceful childhood memories, to folk paintings, horse racing festivals and historical milestones of the nation associated with the Year of the Horse.
Throughout the pages of the book is the image of the horse, a symbol of perseverance, freedom, loyalty and aspiration to reach far, vividly expressed through literature, painting and from the ancient knowledge of ancestors.
Readers meet the warm Tet atmosphere again through warm and kind stories such as: "Strangers on New Year's Eve" (Cao Nguyet Nguyen), "Eiled Coconuts staying here" (Moc An), "Memories of Baby Xi" (Do Thi Phuong Nhi), or rich in imagination and family emotions in "Wings of a Horse" (Nguyen Duong Quynh), comics "Tet Cakes of Unruly Horses" (Muc)...

The Tet poetry collection creates a pure Spring rhythm with familiar and new compositions such as: "Horse Age" (Xuan Quynh), "Spring in the Eyes of Children" (Huong Minh Tuyet), "Spring Sunshine" (Bui Minh Hue), "This Spring, First Time Wearing Ao Dai" (Le Minh Quoc), "New Year's Eve" (Nguyen Quynh Mai), and the translation of the poem "Beautiful Concubine" (Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, translated by Hoang Thu Phuong).
Leading readers back to the traditional Tet flavors through depth-filled and emotional essays and memoirs such as: "Have heard the incense of com melt into the spring breeze" (Tran Van Thien), "Green tea cup", "Sweet Tet" (Han Duong), where family memories, Tet cuisine and Vietnamese lifestyle are depicted subtly and slowly.
Following the horse's hooves, invite you to participate in the journey to discover heritage through "Specific horse dances across the country" (Pham Ngoc Tuan), "Unique Northern folk paintings" (Nguyen Thi Thu Hoa), "Mountain knight in Bac Ha" (My Hanh), or historical stories such as "Lam Son divine horse" (Thanh Chau), "In the old days there was a prodigy" (Le Van).
Spring awards in music and painting through memoirs: "A Little Spring" (Pham Xuan Dung), "Child paintings by famous painter Nguyen Tu Nghiem" (Vu Thi Hang), and educational value-rich historical slices in "The Years of the Horse Tell Stories: From Boy Cung to President Ho Chi Minh" (Thu Huyen).
The highlight of "Binh Ngo Tet Children's Play" lies in the multi-generational approach. The book focuses on young readers but also aims at a common reading experience for the whole family. Each work gives young readers a new experience while touching the purest memories in each adult.
On the occasion of the book launch, at the Saturday Weekend Reading Corner organized by Kim Dong Publishing House on January 24, young readers will have the opportunity to explore "Binh Ngo Tet Noodles" through an exchange with writer Cao Nguyet Nguyen and a Tet Horse Card making workshop with artists of Kim Dong Publishing House.
