On the afternoon of December 17, the Military Region 5 Museum organized a special exhibition on the Heroic Army - Strong National Defense. The exhibition displays more than 200 images, documents and artifacts introducing the formation, combat and development of the Vietnam People's Army throughout its 80-year history with typical feats. In particular, the exhibition emphasizes the core role of the Military Region 5 Armed Forces in contributing with the entire army in the two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the American imperialists, as well as in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. The exhibition introduces more than 200 images, documents and artifacts about the formation, combat and development of the Vietnam People's Army throughout its history.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thi Anh Thu - Director of the Military Region 5 Museum, the exhibition has newly collected artifacts, displayed for the first time. Among them is the Infantry Training Book published by the Vietnam Anti-Japanese Military School in 1945, used by comrade Pham Kiet to train the Ba To Guerrilla Team in the early days of its establishment. The volunteer application of comrade Nguyen Dinh Hoang, former soldier of Company 5, Battalion 5, Regiment 142, Division 315, Military Region 5, written in 1978, volunteering to carry out the mission of sweeping FULRO, protecting the southwestern border of the Fatherland. The letters of martyr Hoang Tan, written in 1970 but not yet sent to his family, he sacrificed in Laos. The letters were found by the K53 collection team, Kon Tum Provincial Military Command and brought back to the country in 2004...
"The exhibition is an opportunity for us to review the glorious history, tradition, good nature and heroic feats of our Army and the extremely important contributions of the armed forces of Military Region 5. At the same time, we honor and pay tribute to the great contributions of generations of fathers and brothers who have devoted their lives to the cause of national liberation. Arouse patriotism and pride in a heroic Army of the heroic Vietnamese people," said Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thi Anh Thu.
The exhibition is open to the public from December 17 to December 31.
