In that context, the parenting viewpoint of People's Artist (NSND) Trung Anh - the owner of the "sweet fruit" that both children used to study at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and won scholarships to study abroad in Finland and the United States - has brought a simple but contemplative perspective.
Despite achieving many successes in art, NSND Trung Anh is always humble when mentioning the achievements of his children. The veteran male artist believes that his children's education is also normal, not outstanding talent, and at the same time emphasizes that besides the self-effort of his 2 children, there is also the element of luck.
Behind the success of his children, NSND Trung Anh does not hesitate to acknowledge the silent and great role of his partner.
He recounted that from the beginning of his marriage, he frankly shared with his wife about his limitations both in terms of... appearance and expertise in the acting profession, and affirmed that he must be highly focused to hope to survive in the profession.
Understanding her husband's passion, his wife devoted her whole heart to taking care of housework, especially taking care of her children's studies.
The dedication of his wife is so great that the male artist admits that he is sometimes "equatorial" when letting his partner take on too much burden.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporters, People's Artist Trung Anh humorously recalled a rare memory when his wife asked him to pick up his child: "I went to pick up the wrong place two or three times because the children studied extra classes in too many places, picking up from this teacher to that teacher. I see that mothers are too hard, both cooking, economy and worrying about their children's studies".
When asked about the secret to their children achieving high achievements and being independent in a foreign land, the "national father" of the movie "Go home, son" affirmed that his family "has no secrets". Instead, the family's education foundation is limited to respecting children's autonomy.
Our motto is to let the children develop on their own and find their own direction. My husband and I have never forced our children to study this or that major, or forced them to go to extra classes. The children study on their own, find their passion on their own," People's Artist Trung Anh said.
According to NSND Trung Anh's sharing, the role of parents is only limited to accompanying and supporting 2 children.
When children need to improve their knowledge, his wife will support them in finding suitable teachers and taking them to school.
When it comes to the decision to choose a school, parents only stop at finding information, orienting and discussing whether it is really appropriate or not, and the final decision completely belongs to the children.
Drawing from his own artistic journey, People's Artist Trung Anh expressed his opinion: "What I like, I can do well, and so can my children. We just try to help them have the comfort to orient themselves".
The "let go and let children grow" education method of NSND Trung Anh's family has achieved results far beyond dreams.
NSND Trung Anh's son used to study Chemistry at Amsterdam University, then studied at the Talent system of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and studied abroad in Finland.
NSND Trung Anh's daughter is currently studying for a PhD in Biochemistry in the US.
