The Prime Minister decided to receive and appoint Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Specialized Member of the Central Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The above decision takes effect from May 21, 2026.
Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung was born in 1983 in Hanoi city, is an information technology engineer, a bachelor of economics, and an expert and manager in technology and economy.
Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung has held many positions such as: Director of the Department of Information Security; Director of the Department of Informatization; Deputy Minister in charge of network security, digital transformation, digital infrastructure, digital government, digital economy and digital society; Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee.
In 2023, Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung was selected by the World Economic Forum (WEF) into the list of Outstanding Young Global Leaders, recognizing his international cooperation efforts and contributions to the development of digital technology in socio-economic fields in Vietnam and the world.
