The romantic comedy Surely Tomorrow revolves around the couple Lee Gyeong Do (Park Seo Joon) and Seo Ji Woo (Won Ji An).
They first met at the age of 20 at a drama club and developed feelings for each other but broke up later. 8 years later, the two dated again but continued to be apart. Many years later, they meet again - when Gyeong Do is a reporter reporting an affair scandal and Ji Woo is the wife of the man at the center of the incident.
The project marked Park Seo Joon's return after a period of absence, so the actor could not hide his excitement: "It's been a long time since I appeared in a TV series. Looking back, there was a time when I was eagerly waiting for the films to air every two weeks. Thinking about feeling that excitement and joy again makes me really look forward to it.
According to the actor, in recent years, he has mainly participated in fantasy projects, but this time, he is attracted to the story reflecting daily life because it is easy to sympathize with everyone.
When I received the script, there were many aspects of the young man Gyeong Do in his twenties that I could sympathize with, and I was very excited about the opportunity to portray the life of a character from a young age to adulthood.
For Park Seo Joon, Gyeong Do is a character with a pure heart, sometimes immature but very steadfast and sincere. The unchanged heart and attitude over time are also what makes Gyeong Do attractive.
I tried to adjust external aspects such as tone and way of speaking to reflect the passing of time, but what I focused on most during filming was the depth of the characters emotions. Hopefully the audience will have a warm and comfortable holiday season with the film.
Previously, director Im Hyun Wook commented that Surely Tomorrow is a rare romance story that is both humorous, exciting, and heartbreaking. His biggest challenge in the project is finding a way to visibly express the flow of emotions between the characters.
Surely Tomorrow is scheduled to premiere on the evening of December 6.
