On November 27, all three large reservoirs in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Den Lake, Song Hoa Lake, and Song Ray Lake, issued new floodwaters to ensure the safety of the project.
Previously, flood discharge notices from each lake were sent to wards and communes in affected areas to proactively deploy response measures.
This flood discharge is expected to last from 8:00 a.m. on November 27 to 8:00 a.m. on December 7, due to the water level in the above lakes exceeding the threshold, in the context of complicated weather developments.
Of which, Da Den and Song Ray reservoirs will release floodwaters for the 4th time; Song Hoa reservoir will release floodwaters for the 3rd time in 2025. The flood discharge may affect some downstream areas in many places in the area of the former Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
People are advised to harvest aquaculture areas early, protect assets and absolutely do not go into rivers to fish or move through strong currents; proactively move assets and livestock out of dangerous areas.
