Accordingly, on June 24, the High-level People's Court in Ho Chi Minh City will open an appeal hearing for the case of "District on inheritance and asking for a house to live in", related to the inheritance of Mr. Vo Van Ngoan (former Meritorious Artist Vu Linh).
The appeal hearing was opened according to the plaintiff's appeal, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung (sister of the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh) and the defendant, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Loan (daughter of the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh).
Ms. Nhung appealed and requested the appeal to cancel the receipt of adoption, birth certificate, and inheritance declaration of Ms. Loan. Determine the real estate and land assets at No. 5 Doan Thi Diem (Ward 1, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City) that have been donated to Ms. Le Thi Hong Phuong (Ms. Nhung's daughter) ...
As for Ms. Vo Thi Hong Loan, it is said that the first instance court had determined that she was the legitimate child, the only person in the first line of inheritance of artist Vu Linh. However, the first instance court divided the inheritance of the parents' inheritance into 2 parts at a ratio of 85% for Ms. Loan and 15% for Ms. Nhung, which was unreasonable.
Ms. Loan proposed that the High-level People's Court in Ho Chi Minh City amend the first instance judgment in the direction of not allowing Ms. Nhung to receive 15% of Mr. Ngoan's assets.
Recently, Hong Loan and his lawyer have collected evidence to prepare for the upcoming appeal hearing.
When asked about the pressure on the appeal hearing on June 24, Hong Loan said that she and her colleagues were not worried.
Hong Loan also said that they have clear evidence so they are always assured and keep a good spirit. Currently, Vu Linh's adopted daughter believes in her lawyers and her accomplices in the inheritance dispute of the late artist Vu Linh.
While on the side of singer Hong Phuong and her children, in the past, the family lived a private life. The singer and her son participated in many social activities and did not say a word related to the lawsuit with Hong Loan.
At the first instance trial in January 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court declared Ms. Hong Loan an adopted child and the only member of the first line of inheritance of the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh. Ms. Hong Loan received 85%, Ms. Nhung received 15% of the value of the assets left by the late artist...
The panel of judges found that Ms. Hong Loan was the adopted child of the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh, belonging to the first line of inheritance and not in the case of no right to receive, being deprived of the right to receive an inheritance or refusing to receive an inheritance.
Ms. Nhung and Mr. Nhieu are the second heirs, so they cannot inherit until the first heir is alive. However, in the assets created by the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh, Ms. Nhung's efforts must be taken into account.
At the time of the artist's death, he was awarded many prestigious medals, marking his social position in the theater industry... Ms. Nhung took care of his mother, took care of his family; took care of Mrs. Loan; took care of the artist when he was seriously ill and, together with other relatives, took care of his funeral when he passed away.
