The AI movie "Dreams of Violets" made entirely with artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming the focus of attention when it is screened at the Tribeca Film Festival 2026 on June 10.
Notably, the work was produced in just about two months with a meager budget of 2,000 USD, equivalent to about 52 million VND.
The film is produced and directed by two brothers, filmmakers and technology businessmen Ash Koosha and Pooya Koosha.
According to the production crew, all images, settings and characters in the film are created using AI tools.
This is also the first film project of Fountain O - a new production company founded by the Koosha brothers, with the orientation of applying AI to the entire filmmaking process.
What the film industry is particularly interested in is not only the content but also the extremely low production costs.
Ash Koosha revealed that "Dreams of Violets" was completed with a budget of only 2,000 USD (about 52 million VND), an almost unimaginable number for a traditional standard feature film.
For many independent filmmakers, the biggest barrier is always funding. AI can open up opportunities for people who have ideas but do not have large financial resources," Ash Koosha shared.
According to this producer, the film was made in about two months, showing the potential of AI in significantly shortening production time and costs. He also said that Fountain O is developing two new film projects using similar technology.
Jane Rosenthal - co-founder of the Tribeca Film Festival - commented that "Dreams of Violets" is not only impressive for technological achievements but also for the weight in filmmaking and storytelling.
The appearance of "Dreams of Violets" at the Tribeca Film Festival is considered a notable milestone in the wave of AI applications in cinema, and at the same time raises new debates about the future of the film industry in the era of artificial intelligence.
