On June 11, the Hanoi Employment Service Center said that in May 2026, the socio-economic situation in Hanoi Capital continued to maintain its breakthrough momentum. The city has synchronously implemented demand stimulus solutions, creating a solid foundation for many core areas to develop positively. The biggest bright spot lies in domestic trade activities. The tourism sector also officially entered the summer peak season, bringing impressive growth. In addition, large infrastructure and real estate projects are creating huge momentum for the labor market, typically historic recruitment rounds with a scale of tens to hundreds of thousands of personnel serving large projects in the city. This recovery also strongly spread to the private sector, with 3,028 newly established businesses.
In May 2026, businesses in the area have a recruitment demand of 57,000 job positions. The highest demand is concentrated in the wholesale, retail and other service sectors, the processing and manufacturing industry - construction and tourism and travel services. The recruitment market shows a clear trend of differentiation when businesses prioritize recruiting college and university degrees to make a professional management framework, while maintaining the recruitment of unskilled workers directly operating the chain. The main salary paid is from 10 - 20 million VND/month.
On the labor supply side, the whole city has 37,000 people looking for jobs. The supply is strongly differentiated in both levels of education: leading is the group with university degrees or higher accounting for 37.9%, the group without training accounting for 33.2%, while the market is lacking skilled technical workers in intermediate and college levels. The job search force is concentrated in the golden working age group: 35 - 54 years old and 25 - 34 years old.
The city has successfully created jobs for 21,900 workers through entrusted capital sources, labor export and service provision. Hanoi Employment Service Center organized 24 job transaction sessions. Regarding the implementation of unemployment insurance policies, the Center received, appraised and issued decisions to enjoy unemployment benefits for 7,628 dossiers with a total support amount of 192.1 billion VND.
Hanoi Employment Service Center forecasts that in June 2026, the labor market will continue to be vibrant but with stricter requirements for quality. The commercial - service and food and beverage service sector still maintains its summer recruitment momentum. Meanwhile, the inner-city production sector is narrowing the demand for unskilled labor due to the trend of factories moving to suburban areas, shifting to hunting for skilled technicians (intermediate, college). In particular, the construction industry will witness fierce personnel competition when a series of large projects are being constructed simultaneously.
In the coming time, the competitive advantage will belong to the group of experienced personnel with multitasking capabilities and flexible application of technology/AI," said a representative of the Hanoi Employment Service Center.
