In about 20 years, generations of Kpop groups have created great economic value for Korea, while bringing Korean music globally, with its own position and influence.
From BigBang, SNSD to most recently BTS, Blackpink... Kpop has excellent representative groups, creating influence beyond borders, even being likened to "powerful" groups of the global performing industry.
BTS, Blackpink or famous Kpop groups also create influence and economic value for many other cultural industries, such as tourism, fashion... Most recently, they also appear at large-scale global events with wide promotional value such as the 2026 World Cup.
In the Vietnamese performing arts market, in the past 3 years, there have been breakthroughs when a series of large-scale concerts were organized.
However, to develop the performing arts industry methodically from now to 2030 with a vision to 2045, we also need a plan to create an ecosystem, connecting from many sides, in many different fields.

Talking to Lao Dong reporters about what more the performing arts market in Vietnam needs to develop the performing arts industry, create outstanding individuals, and at the same time have strong influence - Colonel Mai Kien (Vice Rector of the University of Culture and Arts of the Army) said, "What we need most are people. More than ever, human resource development is needed in a variety of essential fields for the performing arts industry. Currently, our human resources are lacking and weak in many stages.
According to analysis from Colonel Mai Kien, "For Kpop to reach out globally, for groups like BTS, Blackpink to bring promotion and great economic value like that, Korea has had a systematic investment strategy for a very long time. Behind groups like BTS, Blackpink is a whole system to support them. That is a management company building a systematic strategy. That is a musician creating hits for them. That is also a large number of other creative components such as stylists, costume designers, image creators, makeup artists, MV concept writers...
Colonel Mai Kien said, "People are the central factor of the industry, investing in people is a long-term strategy. With the performing arts market, we are lacking human resources in many stages, I take examples such as: lighting directors, lighting design, sound techniques, staging... Many industries do not have people to train.
I realize that in Vietnam, we often have the concept that only singers are prone to fame, singers are the most important, and only singers can become stars. All other positions are only secondary. Meanwhile, in countries with developed performing arts, they see diverse art, value all positions. They see the potential of all positions, they understand that any musical instrument plays an important role in an orchestra, they invest in studying very systematically.

To have a star, you need a quality support team behind you. In particular, the international market has its own standards and standards for each category, each position that creates a music product. A singer is just one of the components that create, besides the musician, harmony, arrangement, design, concept...
Not to mention, besides artistic quality, there are also equally important tasks such as promotion, business, and thinking to turn cultural products into economic value.
To go long-term, the performing industry market needs a synchronous development system, promotional strategies, professional operating plans, not just the individual investment of a few singers.
