The contest is held in Vietnam on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Miss World's establishment. This is the first time Vietnam has hosted this contest.
According to the proposal of the Organizing Committee, Quang Ninh will host the opening series of activities from August 8-12, 2026, expected to have about 130 contestants representing 130 countries and territories participating.
The highlight of the series of events is the opening ceremony with the theme "Welcome Miss World to Quang Ninh - Vietnam", combined with awarding scholarships for education promotion. Contestants are also expected to visit and experience Ha Long Bay and participate in gratitude activities and environmental protection.
Through the series of activities, Quang Ninh aims to introduce the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay along with cultural, historical, natural landscape and local people values to international friends; contributing to promoting the tourism brand of the province and Vietnam.
At the meeting, delegates discussed the scale and location of the opening ceremony; plans to welcome international delegations; reception, logistics, security, health, transportation, fire prevention and fighting, and environmental sanitation.
The communication plan and plan to mobilize socialized resources to serve the series of events were also put up for discussion.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Bui Van Khang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee - said that being selected to organize the opening ceremony and series of opening activities of Miss World 2026 is an opportunity for the province to promote its destination, improve its capacity to organize cultural, tourism and international foreign affairs events.
The Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, localities and related units to coordinate with the Organizing Committee to develop a master plan and detailed scenario; clearly assign responsibilities and soon establish sub-committees in charge of each field.
Units must prepare plans to welcome delegates, candidates and international guests; ensure security, order, traffic safety, health, fire prevention and fighting, and environmental sanitation.
