On December 16, the press conference for the movie “The Priests 2: Dark Nuns” took place in Seoul (Korea) with the participation of director Kwon Hyuk Jae and cast members Song Hye Kyo, Jeon Yeo Been, Lee Jin Wook, and Moon Woo Jin.
"Dark Nuns" is a female version of the 2015 blockbuster film "The Priests", scheduled to hit theaters on January 24, 2025.
The film delves into the story of two nuns, Junia (Song Hye Kyo) and Michaela (Jeon Yeo Been), who perform forbidden rituals to save a boy possessed by a terrifying evil spirit.
This Korean-style mystery promises a gripping exploration of faith, courage, and the never-ending battle against darkness.
At the press conference, Song Hye Kyo shared about the challenges of taking on the role: “The highlight was the exorcism scene. It was really hard to remember the prayer. I had to control my emotions, so I often had to practice memorizing it while taking a shower and washing dishes.
When filming a scene fighting an evil spirit, my body sometimes became stiff. I also had frequent nightmares. It was a difficult job both physically and mentally.”
When asked about how she portrayed Michaela this time, Jeon Yeo Been shared: “I think the most important thing is the reaction. Instead of explaining myself through lines, I tried to convey the energy from the surrounding environment through my eyes and body shaking.
I tried to look closely at the situation and what gave me strength was Song Hye Kyo's eyes."
Jeon Yeo Been also expressed her admiration for Song Hye Kyo when she said: "I have watched movies with Song Hye Kyo since I was in school." In response, the Song beauty also expressed her joy at working with Jeon Yeo Been.
“I was very happy to hear that Jeon Yeo Been was cast. Personally, I have always wanted to work with Yeo Been in a production. I have heard many good stories about Yeo Been from actors who are close to me, because they are also close to Yeo Been. When we acted together on set, it was even more wonderful than what was told.
She said I was the one who helped her on set, but Junia couldn't have done it without Michaela, she was my "savior" - Song Hye Kyo praised her co-star.
