Once one of the famous stars of Vietnamese cinema in the 1990s, Viet Trinh recently shared about her journey to art, the time she started nurturing the dream of acting and the first idols in the profession.
The actress said that at the age of 13, her family once oriented her to pursue a teaching career because they wanted their daughter to have a stable job. However, from a young age, Viet Trinh loved art and always dreamed of becoming an actress.
She recounted that at the time she knew that the Film School was enrolling in the B system, she was determined to register for the exam even though her family had no one involved in art activities. For Viet Trinh at that time, cinema was a world that was both strange and attractive.
The actress recalled that in the early stages of nurturing her dream of working, she especially admired Hoang Phuc - one of the famous faces of Vietnamese cinema at that time. The image of the male actor appearing on screen made her even more motivated to pursue art.
At that time, I looked at Hoang Phuc and thought, I wish I could be an actress," Viet Trinh shared.
After many efforts to pursue her passion, the actress gradually affirmed her name through many famous films and became one of the symbols of Vietnamese cinema in the 1990s. Viet Trinh said that in her peak period, she received a lot of love from the audience. Every time she appeared on stage, at events or in public places, she was noticed and sought after by the public.
According to the actress, the love of the audience is something she always cherishes throughout her career journey. Although she is no longer actively involved in art as before, Viet Trinh said she still feels happy when looking back at the time of dedication to cinema.
After the success of the hit series in the 1990s, Viet Trinh continued to participate in the project "Debt of Life" around the 2000s before gradually returning to a quieter life and limiting appearances in showbiz.
Speaking about the change in the position of generations of artists over time, the actress believes that it is a natural law of the profession. According to her, each time will have its own outstanding faces and today's young artists are also continuing the journey that the previous generation went through.
For me, it's simply the law of old bamboo shoots sprouting new shoots. The younger generation goes up, while I gradually step back," the actress expressed.
