Son Tung M-TP's company has 4 bank accounts, the tax authority must issue 4 corresponding enforcement decisions. Therefore, in fact, Son Tung M-TP's company was only forced to owe a tax of VND 118.7 million, not nearly VND 500 million according to the audience's speculation.
The effective period of these decisions lasts from June 26, 2025 to July 25, 2025. The enforcement measure applied is " withdrawal of money from the account, blocking the account of taxpayers subject to enforcement of administrative decisions on tax management".
Speaking to reporters, lawyer Hoang Ha of L&P law office, Ho Chi Minh City said that many aspects of the reason why Son Tung M-TP's company was forced to pay taxes should be considered.
According to the lawyer, a business being forced to owe taxes does not mean that the company is tax evasion, which may be due to late payment due to cash flow difficulties or is in the process of complaining or disputing the tax payable.
"Enterprises subject to tax debt enforcement are tax management measures applied by tax authorities when taxpayers do not voluntarily pay taxes on time. Reasons may include: Late payment due to financial difficulties, lack of cash flow; Complaints or disputes over the amount of tax payable; Forgetting or omitting tax obligations; De purposeful late payment but not enough factors to constitute a crime of tax evasion.
Therefore, tax debt enforcement is an administrative measure to recover tax debts, not a reference to businesses cheating" - lawyer Ha added.
M-TP Entertainment is one of the entertainment companies operating in the fields of music production, artist management and entertainment content production.
