The Chinese actress describes it as a journey from "the darkest moments" to "rebirth".
According to Trieu Lo Tu, she started having symptoms of depression a few years ago. But at that time, she chose to ignore her health condition, because she did not want to disappoint her family, friends, and fans.
To cope with her busy schedule, the actress relies on sleeping pills. Zhao Lusi rarely rests for fear of being labeled as “lazy.”
Work pressure, negative emotions, and fear of being judged by others have caused anxiety symptoms to gradually become a part of her life.
After a period of treatment, the condition of the star of the movie "Rem ngoc chau sa" has improved significantly.
Initially, Trieu Lo Tu could not take care of herself and suffered from physical sensory delays (loss of language ability, inability to walk, inability to grasp objects, etc.). Currently, the actress is able to live a normal life.
Trieu Lo Tu's treatment has been going on for more than a month, and it is expected to take 3-4 months to recover.
Doctors are adjusting her hormone levels through medication. In addition, Trieu Lo Tu is actively seeking self-help methods to escape the “darkness” of depression.
The actress confided that over the past few years, she has found solace in many hobbies such as going to coffee shops, playing music, painting...
"I sought out everything that could help me mentally, and the depression eased. Don't let yourself get stuck in physical pain or mental imprisonment.
"In addition to taking medication to control physical symptoms, you need to exercise and participate in social activities. This prevents you from constantly focusing on the negative aspects of the disease. Gradually, you will find solutions and see yourself improving every day," the actress shared.
From her situation, the star born in 1998 has planned charity activities to support vulnerable groups. These experiences have given her more courage to stand up and tell people that depression is not a scary thing.
“I believe my recovery was due to actively learning about the disease,” Zhao Lusi emphasized. “Once you understand it, you will see that it is not as scary as you think, and there are many possible solutions.”
The actress also advised people with depression not to isolate themselves, to approach treatment with a positive mindset, and to participate in social activities to feel love from the outside world.
In particular, Trieu Lo Tu called for an end to stigmatization and “trivialization” of depression.
"The support and encouragement that everyone has given me is invaluable. Therefore, I also hope to use my strength to help as many people as possible, especially those who are struggling with mental health issues," Trieu Lo Tu shared.
After nearly a month of announcing a temporary hiatus (from December 27, 2024) to take care of her health, on January 25, Trieu Lo Tu will return to promote a beverage brand. The event will be held in Chengdu with the number of fans attending limited to about 100 people.
