The news that Zhang Wanyi joined a new film crew right after the film “Security of the Brocade” with Ren Min ended received public attention. According to the media, it is possible that the actor will star in “The Living Pretend” with “Beijing’s number one beauty” Jing Tian.
Adapted from the novel "The Master and Disciple of the Police" by author Nham Kiem Ba, the film revolves around Cong Ton Kien Quyet - who has been in the police force for more than 30 years, since he was a trainee police officer, following his master, Uncle Bay, to learn how to solve cases and investigate crimes.
Currently, the producer has not revealed too much about the film's content. However, it is revealed that screenwriter Trieu Dong Linh - who worked with Truong Van Y in the film "The Glory of Your Father" - has suggested changing the main character's name.
Along with that, Ly Moc Qua - the director who made the success of "Tu Dang" - a rare successful film in Canh Diem's career will direct the work.
If Zhang Wanyi and Jing Tian agree to participate, this will be the second project of the star couple, after the historical drama “Tu Cam”. In the previous project, Jing Tian played Jiang Zi - an intelligent girl who holds the secret technique of the Wu Miao tribe, while Zhang Wanyi plays Yu Qi - a noble prince who grew up on the battlefield.
The film just started filming in May so there is no release date yet. However, behind-the-scenes photos of the couple have been praised for their good looks and ancient costumes. In particular, the long curly hairstyle makes Truong Van Y more romantic and attractive.
